It’s hard to believe we’re nearing the end of another year already but here we are. Whether you love it, hate it or are indifferent to it, Black Friday falls on Friday 26th November 2021 and bargain hunters are at the ready. There’s no way I could include all the best deals here as most outlets will be offering some kind of promotion this week, but I thought I’d round up just a few Frugal Finds for this year’s Black Friday Deals Special.

Some of the deals run throughout the week, others start specifically on Black Friday. I’ll update this post again on Friday with any new finds.

A Quick Black Friday Note

This isn’t about encouraging wasteful spending and buying for the sake of it. Far from it. This is about being more frugal on the things you already buy, the things you need, the things you might like, or any items for gifting. This is saving and buying wisely, with some self-treats absolutely encouraged if it’s something you genuinely like.

I’m usually quite sceptical about Black Friday as the majority of deals are either naff or not really deals at all. You do need to be a bit savvy about it. That said, I’ve personally found some decent offers in the past on larger items and I’ve already made use of the sales this year to save some pennies on smaller things.

Remember, not all Black Friday deals will be as good as they sound. If you’ve found a product you’re interested in, compare the price elsewhere. Only buy from reliable sources and ensure there’s a padlock icon in the address bar when you go to the checkout. Read reviews, weigh up your options, make sure it’s something you truly like, need or want. Now could be a good time to pick up something you’ve been wanting for a while or to browse for Christmas gifts.

Medichecks Home Blood Tests – 25%+ Off

Get some early Black Friday offers at Medichecks with 25% or more off certain home blood tests. These include the likes of The men’s or Women’s Ultimate at-home blood test, Testosterone blood test, and the Advanced Thyroid Function blood test, etc.

There’s also 25% off all other tests! Offers start Friday 26th and run until midnight Monday 29th November. Discount applied at checkout.

Most Medichecks tests can be done with fingerprick blood samples at home, though some offer the option of venous samples by a nurse at a local clinic.

This is a service for UK customers, so it’s a great option for those who struggle to get the tests they need on the NHS or need to get a quick turnaround.

For those interested, you can also get Covid antibody tests to check your basic antibody level.

Lloyds Pharmacy

Lloyds Pharmacy is doing a month-long affair with deals on everything from fitness watches and electric toothbrushes, to heated blankets and eye creams.

It’s free click & collect in store over £20, but always check on the day as they sometimes offer cheap delivery or any-spend free collection.

Free Month Of Readly (UK)

Fancy a free month of Readly worth £7.99? You can cancel at any time if you don’t want to continue after your free month, including before the month has ended. Just make sure to do it early or make a note in your calendar. If you want to continue, it’s £7.99 p/month, which you can pick up or cancel whenever it suits.

Given the price of a single printed magazine these days, Readly is a convenient and accessible alternative. They’ve added lots of new titles over the last year or so, but unfortunately that also means they’re having to increase prices, which will mean the cost is £9.99 p/month from 1st December 2021.

Boots Health, Beauty, Toiletries & Gifting

Boots have been pretty decent with their offers over the last two years, so it’s unsurprising to find they are dishing up more deals for Black Friday.

They run a range of offers at all times, but they’re putting on extra discounts for Black Friday week. For instance, at the time of writing, they’re also offering £10 of points on a £60 spend on electricals (incl Fitbits & sale).

Click & collect from store is free for orders over £15 (otherwise £1.50). Standard delivery within 5 working days is free for orders over £25 (otherwise £3.75).

I buy a lot from Boots so I like to make use of promotions and Advantage card bonus points to stock up on everything from hand wash and shower gel, to face creams and vitamin supplements.

Just a couple of ideas here:

eBay Deals

eBay are running various Black Friday discounts up to 50% off from different sellers. If you’re a Nectar card holder (UK) then you might also find a bonus points offer on the homepage waiting for you, like 5x the points on a £10 spend.

Check your Nectar account (app or website) to see if the Power Hour event is hiding on there (under “Nectar partners”). You can get 50x Nectar points on Friday 26th Nov between 12pm – 1pm when you spend £10+ on one item. Click “visit website” at the bottom of the offer page to activate the offer, then wait to do your shopping on Friday if you want to use the promo.

Amazon Black Friday Deals

King of the Lightning Deal sales is Amazon, often touted as one of the biggest Black Friday outlets worldwide. I’ve actually already been able to pick up a few things I was looking for at a far better price than elsewhere, like Nip + Fab skincare products because my face needs some hardcore help at the moment.

If you’re ordering clothing from here but don’t want to go through the process of payment & refund if the items don’t fit then you might want to consider Amazon’s Try Before You Buy Scheme. This allows you to try various clothes and accessories before paying for them, so you pay if you love them and simply return them if you don’t.

If you’re looking for new tech, there are some decent deals on the Ring doorbells, single or as a package. For instance, the Echo Show 8 (2nd gen 2021 release) with a Ring wired doorbell is £89.99 instead of £168.99.

I don’t find the Black Friday offers particularly easy to search though as you can’t really filter products beyond the overarching category. If you’ve got some time to spare, you might want to flick through a few pages to see if anything catches your fancy, or search directly if you have something particular in mind.
