What Is Indian Head Massage & What Can It Do For Your Health?

by InvisiblyMe

Today I wanted to share a brilliant guest post on Indian head massage and the interesting, lesser known benefits it can have on your health. I remember having a free mini one of these done a few years ago and I’d certainly consider getting a full one in future, especially thanks to this reminder on the positive effects they can have. Enjoy!

Massage For Wellbeing

Just sit down and let expert hands do the rest.

For many individuals, massage is their source of physical relief, but it does much more than restore physical comfort. Through the years, studies have proven that massage can improve health and other bodily functions, helping people achieve the good quality of life that they desire.

The head is one part of the body that benefits much from massage. It holds the human brain which controls and coordinates actions and reactions. Plus, it gets 20 percent of the body’s total blood and oxygen and has blood vessels that are almost 100,000 miles in length.

As such, do not be surprised to discover that whenever something is wrong in other parts of your body, you automatically become prone to headaches. When you are hungry and dehydrated, you feel lightheaded and have difficulty concentrating, for example. And when your hormones are out of whack, you become more prone to migraines.

Taking good care of your head is a must, and one of the best ways to focus attention on it is to get a head massage from an experienced professional.

The Basics Of Indian Head Massage

There are different kinds of massage that you can try to make your head feel better. According to the leading massage therapists, the Indian head massage is among the highly recommended massage types.

This ancient therapeutic treatment that originated in India is a type of deep massage that uses a variety of pressure and techniques to stimulate the seven paths of energy (or chakras). It has been proven to restore balance and promote healing not just to your head, but also to the rest of your body.

Prior to an Indian head massage, the therapist will inquire first about the pain you are feeling, your current lifestyle, any medications you are taking, and other details that can provide information about your present well-being. This is an important part of the process that will help ensure that the massage will be performed correctly, and to ensure efficacy.

The session typically lasts anywhere between 25 and 45 minutes, and different essential oils are used to enhance the effects of the massage technique.

Health Benefits of Indian Head Massage

It goes without saying that this type of massage is a suitable treatment for headaches. If you are looking for relief from a consistent or severe headache, an Indian head massage is what you should ask for when you visit a massage center. But it provides many other health benefits as well, seven of which are listed below.

1.     It improves quality of sleep.

After a session of Indian head massage, you will feel calm and relaxed. You can be sure that you will sleep better and longer. Plus, you will feel more refreshed the day after.

2.     It can increase your energy levels.

According to a school of massage therapy in London, as an Ayurvedic treatment, Indian head massage opens up energy channels and restores the body’s balance. You will feel the re-invigorating effect for many days after receiving the massage.

3.     It can boost your mood.

With renewed energy and freedom from persistent pain, you will feel lighter overall. You will also be able to think more clearly and deal with life’s situations appropriately and effectively.

4.     Your hair could grow thicker and stronger.

The stimulation of the scalp improves blood flow that helps hair grow fast. Pair this with essential oils that are rich in nutrients and your mane will not only grow faster, but it will become smooth and thick as well.

5.     It can boost your immune system.

Indian head massage improves lymphatic drainage. This means that toxins that make you prone to common illnesses like colds and cough are flushed out of your system more effectively.

6.     It can help relieve sinusitis.

The massage opens up the nasal passage and helps clear mucus. Meanwhile, the oils used for the massage help alleviate the pain that often radiates from the face to the back of the head.

7.     It can improve memory and concentration.

Indian head massage allows the brain to relax in order for sensual awareness to transpire. It shifts focus away from stressful concerns and towards the delightful sensations of the moment. It functions like a reboot of the brain so the organ is able to absorb more information.

Taking excellent care of your head  is crucial to your entire body’s health. Treat yourself to wellness solutions such as an Indian head massage (you can easily squeeze this into your busy schedule) and discover the positive results. Simple wellness choices like this can have a huge impact on how you look, feel and function.

I think most normal people love getting a massage, but it hurts me so much! I know it sounds crazy, but I am very abnormal!

I’ve not had this kind, but I’ve had a massage and I didn’t like it. I’m thinking I went to the wrong person.

Have a fabulous day. ♥
