Finances can be a challenging topic for anyone, and I think perhaps more so in some ways for those with chronic illness. I thought I’d introduce Frugal Friday as a way of showcasing one or two bargain finds, freebies and money saving or making ideas. What do you think?
Printable Freebies
First up today, I want to share some printable freebies. I know a lot of you like arts, crafts and colouring for relaxation, to destress or to inspire. Hobbycraft (UK) have a range of really beautiful colouring pages, all available as PDFs to download and print! Check out their website for more details.
Mobile Deals & £5 Free
I’ve been with GiffGaff for a couple of years now as they offer far better value for money for my type of mobile use. I use their PAYG SIM, topping up with regular credit sometimes (for those ‘just in case moments’) but I usually buy their £5 monthly bundle – this gives me minutes, texts and Internet, plus you also get free calls/texts to other GiffGaff users. I love the flexibility they offer in terms of buying what you need and not being tied down to anything, and I’d highly rate their customer service too.
If you want a free SIM, you can use this link to also get yourself an extra £5 free when you first top up or buy a rolling monthly bundle.
Kindle Deals : Giving Less F*cks!
This kindle version is on sale at 99p on Amazon – just ordered my copy yesterday!
You can check out more life-changing reads & self-help books in my recommended list here.
I hope you enjoyed these! Let me know if there’s anything you’d like to see in the future and I’ll try my best to scout something out 🙂
Take care and have a lovely, restful weekend guys & gals.

That’s awesome, glad you like the idea, Kim! 🙂

Love this Caz! Me and Dizzy do like a bargain. The colouring sheets are so pretty. We’ll definitely be amusing ourselves with some of these. 🙂 xxx
Glad I’m not the only one who loves a bargain! Enjoy the colouring & have a restful weekend 🙂
xx
Great idea Caz! I love a good bargain! Like you say those of us with chronic illnesses probably struggle with our finances more than most. Xx
I wonder if exploring the issue of money / ways to save / bargains / small side earners online etc would be useful? Glad you like the Frugal Friday idea! I do hope you’re doing okay as I worry about you – sending you my very best for a restful weekend (have you had your results yet? Or perhaps you can expect them early next week?) xx
I love this idea Caz! Who doesn’t love a bargain? Thanks especially for sharing the coloring pages. I’ll definitely be printing some of those!
So good to hear you like the idea, Terri! I’ve printed a few myself to see whether colouring is something I can get into for a bit of zen-inspiration – enjoy the colouring and have a lovely weekend 🙂 x
I notice that book on Amazon the other day…. am curious! Would be good to know what you think of it when you have had a chance to read it.
I’ve only just started it but so far so good – Going to sit down to it properly next week as I’ve been a bit of a jumble this week with other things. I think that saying f*** it requires more of my attention! Will have to post again when I’ve got through it to let you know what it’s like 🙂
I’ve been interested in the Sarah Knight book, as the title reminds me of The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck haha!
That one’s next on my list! I’ll buy that one as a proper book rather than a Kindle I think. If you liked that, judging by the comments, you’d probably enjoy this one too 🙂 x
I’ve just printed the Rhino off to colour. Rhinos hold a special significance for me as there are times when I swear my younger boy is a Rhino and I often call him Rhino lol
This made me chuckle – Maybe you can colour that as a special gift for him! x
Oh great tips. I didn’t know Hobbycraft had free colouring downloads! I have that book in hardback, it was a gift. I must get reading it!
I didn’t know either until I randomly spotted the freebies this week, couldn’t not share them! I hope you enjoy the book – I’ll be getting into it properly next week I hope so we’ll have to compare notes on what we think of it 🙂
xx
I’ll be checking out more Hobbycraft freebies ?
Yes let me know what you think of the book. I still haven’t started your previous Derren Brown bargain yet!
I absolutely love the idea of Frugal Fridays! Great tips. Oh, and great post!
I’d love it if you’d check out my new post at https://khanakm.com/2018/01/21/best-of-beauty-2017/

Glad you like it! Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to comment Khanak, just checking out your latest blog post now 🙂
Gotta love the title of that book you ordered!!
Frugal Friday is defintitely a good idea, Will definitely read the book. I always thought you need a kindle to read a kindle edition book, but learned there is also a free app for that.
Thanks for sharing!
Viola
Great tips Caz! I am currently reading the subtle art of not giving a fu** so this sounds very similar 🙂
Thanks, Laura. That’s the book I want to get next! How are you finding it so far? x
Great idea, Caz! The description of that book made me laugh. Too funny! Giff Gaff is great, my sis uses it too. I’m in a contract so I don’t have it myself.
