I’ve just come back from my Pain Management session and now seem all the more aware of how achey and exhausted I feel – strange how that works! Otherwise, the week has been a bit up and down, but more up than last week, so that’s a good start! How have you all been doing? I hope the week has treated you as well as possible – if not, here’s to hoping for better, brighter days ahead.
Luscious Hair Vitamins
I wasn’t sure what to make of these at first but they’ve got really good 5* reviews on average & the offer price pretty good! These are Hairburst chewable vitamins from Superdrug that are packed with goodness. In particular, these are designed to nurture your hair, to promote healthy, full, luscious locks. When invisible illness, genetics, stress and the weather can all impact our hair health, these seem like a great idea.
Superdrug have lots of other bargain buys on at the moment, too. For instance, I’ve just added some limited edition Nivea face wipes to my basket for £1.35 (instead of £2.99).
Block Unwanted Calls
Not quite a freebie per se, but this is a free service you may be interested in if you’re in the UK and haven’t heard of it already. If you get nuisance sales calls and want them stopped, you can register with TPS (the Telephone Preference Service) and they’ll block them. Bye bye cold callers!
CBD Oil
I posted about CBD oil this week and how it’s recently become available (from hemp, the legal version) at Holland & Barrett in the UK. If it’s something you want to check out (see your GP or pharmacist if you’re unsure with your current health/medication) then now is a good time to as it’s less than half price. At less than a tenner, I thought “why not?” – I’ve ordered mine out of curiosity. It’s a great investment if it does work, and something to at least have given a try if it doesn’t, as all types of treatments will work differently for everyone.
Free Kindle Thriller
Another freebie at the moment for Kindle users (remember, you can also use the app on another device, such as your phone or tablet without needing a dedicated Kindle). Till The Dust Settles by Pat Young has got some really positive reviews as being an “unmissable debut thriller”. * Freebie ended *
Have a lovely weekend, whatever you’re up to.

For me, it will be call at my mum’s tomorrow and have lunch. While there, I shall be doing her a favour. I am hoping on the way to my mum’s, that when I call into the vets, I get a suitable appointment that is not a long wait. As I may set off early, I may contemplate breakfast out. But shall see.
When I am back from mum’s, I may watch a dvd.
Sunday, will be a lazy day.
I hope you had a lovely lunch with you mum, and that you also get an appropriate vet appointment. Did you get brekkie out in the end? I haven’t had breakfast out in ages, it’s a lovely treat when I do though so I might try to one day next week. Hope you have a lovely afternoon (film sounds like a relaxing idea!) and a great lazy Sunday, Liz 🙂

Hi Caz,
I’ve tried CBD, well still on it. It’s hard to tell if it’s doing anything for me as my condition is so up and down and remains so but I seem to be having more good days than bad yet it’s all quite unreliable with a fistula . I’m hoping it’s doing something, I got mine from simply cbd . I think we get to the point we will try anything to feel half well!
I’ve bought some multi vitamins and iron today as I’m anaemic again, not massively but just below what it sound be , plus my ferritin level is quite low. How I hate this fistula! But I have to try and start to live with it rather than putting my life on hold as time is just passing so quickly.
I’m waiting my pain management appointment. I get such conflicting information about pain relief, don’t twke this, do take that , it gets me down to be honest. Ah well nothing I can do.
Have a nice weekend xxxx keep warm x
I can appreciate the up and down nature of things, and such unpredictability can be quite hard to manage. I haven’t heard of Simply CBD but I’ll check it out. I’ve ordered the H&B one for myself to try out. I think hoping for the best with these sorts of things is the best way forward – I truly do hope it is helping you, and having more good days than bad on the whole is certainly a step in the right direction. You’re right in saying about doing whatever we can and learning living with it (the fistula and health problems you have) rather than struggling against it because it’s not fair we have to press pause on our lives. Information on pain relief and in general about what helps different conditions can be so annoying because of conflicting suggestions, and sometimes they can be the complete opposite! I’ve learned to take everything with a pinch of salt and give things a try with an open mind because there are no certainties, things work so differently for everyone, and ‘experts’ don’t know everything either. Wishing you all the best with the CBD and the multi-vits for the iron! Thank you so much for the comment 🙂 xx
Those hair vitamins sound great. Also like your bargain on the Nivea wipes. Superdrug rocks.
Superdrug is fab, I’ve had a lot of bargain buys from there & always find the service/delivery/collection (though I’ve only collected twice) to be brilliant and without fault. I’m getting the hair vitamins for my mum for mother’s day and keeping my fingers crossed she doesn’t take offence as she’s always the one saying she wants healthier looking hair!
Have a great weekend and thanks for the comment 🙂
