Cannacares CBD Review & Giveaway Worth £49.99!

by InvisiblyMe
A photo of the four Cannacares products I've been gifted to review. Below is the title: Cannacares CBD Review & Giveaway.

I was kindly contacted by the lovely guys at Cannacares recently asking if I’d like to try out some of their CBD range in return for an honest review. If you fancy trying some for yourself then scroll down to enter the giveaway to win a bottle of CBD oil!

Cannacares : About The Brand

Cannacares have focused their efforts on providing users with top quality, effective and safe CBD products. They have a desire to create a community spirit, educating individuals and dispelling the myths around CBD. In recent years, CBD has grown in popularity and there’s now greater general awareness around what it is and what it does.

About CBD

Cannabidiol – aka CBD – does not have levels of THC to create any psychoactive effects. It’s a more natural product that can be used as a supplement for a range of potential benefits, from pain management and stress-relief to anxiety management and improved sleep. CBD is legal in the UK and the US, and there’s new legislation due to be coming into effect in 2021 to see the market better regulated.

CBD is a burgeoning niche. A product many of us had never heard of 5 years ago has become the talk of the town, with brands and product types seemingly multiplying by the day. It’s important to ensure you’re getting quality CBD that’s safe and products that are effective, so it pays to do your homework and learn a bit more about the brand and how their CBD is manufactured.

You might find products describing the CBD content in mg and/or percentages. If a 10mg product has 700mg of CBD, it essentially means that the CBD concentration is 7%.

CBD works differently for everyone. Much like most things, what works for one person may not work for the next, and you’ll never really know what it could do for you unless or until you give it a go. I personally find that user reviews can be priceless here because you can get a better sense of what to expect, helping you to make an informed decision.

It’s important to note that all products should be kept out of reach of children. Always consult your GP before starting a new supplement regimen, including CBD, especially if you are pregnant, nursing, have a chronic illness and/or are already taking other supplements and prescription medications.

These CBD products are classed as supplements. They’re not intended for diagnosing, treating, curing or preventing any diseases.

Cannacares CBD

Cannacares source they CBD from ‘reputable supplies’, ensuring its proceed under GMP conditions. Their suppliers provide 3rd party lab reports.

A bird's eye view of the four Cannacares products I was gifted for my review, as well as a brochure. The products are boxed, apart from the balm which comes in a tub. the design is mostly white, very contemporary with pink, blue and green detailing on the different boxes. Below the products is the InvisiblyMe blog branding.

Product Range

Cannacares use “the finest organic hemp” to produce a range of different CBD formats. These include:

  • Capsules
  • Creams & cosmetics
  • Patches
  • Oils
  • Sprays
  • Themed Range (CBD sprays with vitamins and essential oils to enhance the product efficacy, with 5 variations to provide different benefits and flavourings)

Products can be purchased separately but bundled items are also available.

Lab reports for some products can be found on their respective product pages. If you need further information, get in touch with Cannacares and they’ll be happy to help.

Products I’ve Tried

1. Joint & Muscle Relief

  • Fast Absorbing
  • GMP Pharmaceutical Standard
  • 2-in-1 Full Spectrum Hemp Extract 500ml + Magnesium
  • 500ml

Important Information:

  • Storage : Ensure it’s closed well and storage between 5-25 degrees, not exposed to direct sunlight.
  • Don’t use on damaged skin.
  • Not for children under 3yrs, those with any sensitivity to the ingredients. Not for those breastfeeding or those that are pregnant.
A bird's eye photo of the silver and green tube of CBD and magnesium cream from Cannacares for my review on top of the brochure.

To Use:

Cannacares simply state “apply to areas when needed”. I personally would suggest focusing on massaging the cream into the problem areas, trying a small blob first then building up the frequency and amount if or as required.

My Thoughts :

Magnesium is a vital nutrient that plays various roles in the body, from regulating blood pressure and blood sugar, to making DNA, bone and protein, not to mention supporting nerve and muscle function. Sore, painful, tight or spasm-prone muscles might benefit from magnesium, especially if your body is deficient. Speak to your doctor if you have any concerns.

This product combines two powerful agents – CBD and magnesium – to enhance the relieving, soothing effects of both, potentially helping pain and inflammation in the affected areas.

It’s convenient to use as it absorbs well, and I find the massage to apply it both supports the effects of the cream and helps relieve knotted muscles.

2. CBD CALM Oil Drops

  • Glass bottle with dropper
  • 10% potency / 3000mg
  • Food supplement 30ml
  • Serving size – 4 drops. 20mg CBD p/serving.

Important Information :

  • Consult your GP before using if you’re pregnant or nursing, if you have any medical conditions or take prescription medications. Only for adults.
A bird's eye photo of the white and blue bottle of CALM oil drops from Cannacares for my review on top of the brochure.

To Use :

4 drops under the tongue 3 times a day.

Thoughts :

This is a reasonable 30ml bottle with an average kind of strength at 10%. It’s what I would think would be a great starting point it you’re new to CBD or don’t need significantly higher strengths to feel a benefit. I think this is pretty adequate. It’s easy and straightforward to use with the pipette, and convenient at home or while travelling. This is the one I’ve not tested myself as it’s what I’m giving away – If you’d like a chance to win this, scroll down to enter!

3. CBD Spray Vitamin D Immunity

  • 7% potency / 700mg CBD
  • Includes Vitamin D3 (Colecalciferol)
  • 10ml bottle (circa 70 sprays)
  • Oral use only
  • This uses quality CBD in conjunction with natural flavourings and MCT oil (Medium-chain triglycerides, supplement from fats found in the likes of coconut oil).
  • Serving size is 3 sprays. CBD per serving is 10mg. Vitamin D per serving is 5 ug (this part doesn’t make sense) / 20000 I.U / 100% RDA.
  • Tangerine flavouring
A bird's eye photo of the white and peach bottle of CBD Immunity spray from Cannacares for my review on top of the brochure.

To Use :

Recommended dosage is 2 sprays under the tongue three times each day.

Sublingual forms of CBD, like this spray or oils that are dropped under the tongue, are absorbed through your salivary glands to the varicose veins that sit beneath the tongue. Cannacares suggest that the effects are quite speedy, usually working within 15-30 minutes.

To use :

Spray three times under the tongue. Use daily. This is a guideline only; you may wish to adapt the dosage and frequency as you see fit.

Thoughts :

This is only a small 10ml bottle and the strength, compared to some brands, is a little on the low side for me personally. The slight citrus flavour is a good twist to make it more palatable as CBD naturally has an earthy taste. This makes it more pleasant to use, though being oily if you get any over your hands, which probably shouldn’t happen but has when I’ve used it, it can get a little greasy.

I’m a little unsure of the exact Vitamin D in this. The product information says that a serving size is 3 sprays, with 10mg CBD and 5ug of Vit per serving. 5ug is not much. However, it then says “20000 I.U / 100% RDA”, which is completely different. So I’ve no idea really how much Vit D is in this or which part of the description isn’t correct. As such I couldn’t recommend it as a Vit D supplement but it’s nice to have an extra little bit of this vitamin in the product if you’re already looking to use a CBD spray.

What also doesn’t make sense is that this has a tangerine flavouring, but the product description notes it has a ‘minty taste’. The latter is obviously an error on the product information as it has a fruity taste.

Update : Cannacares have finally got back in touch with me after a lot of chasing to advise “we recommend using this 3 times a day with each dose delivering 5ug. We did have a small typo in the copy on one batch of our boxes which I believe could have affected you parcel. 5ug = 200IU & the RDA is around 600IU pending your age.”

4. CBD Balm

  • 150mg of CBD
  • Chemical, THC & cruelty free
  • Natural scent
  • Soothing balm for moisturising skin
  • Natural, vegan & organic
A bird's eye photo of the white and white and pink round tub of CBD balm from Cannacares for my review on top of the brochure.

To Use :

Apply the desired amount of the balm to clean skin, massing in well until fully absorbed. Repeat as and when needed.

Thoughts :

I like that this is a more versatile product so you can use it on different areas of the body, acting as a moisturiser while delivering the benefits of CBD. Massaging well to muscles and joints could help a little with any aches and pains there, too.

Cannacares Customer Service

Unfortunately I’ve not had a great experience here. I was contacted to ask whether I’d like to test out their products for a review, and products were promptly sent out. However, after some miscommunication with this person leaving the company, I was then able to speak with someone else. I sent emails with a few questions I had on their products a couple of times but over the space of two months had no responses. I’m not sure what the customer service would be like as an actual customer, but my experience here has been pretty disappointing.

Disappointing Experiences With Cannacares

While I like the aesthetics & the varied product range, I couldn’t find adequate information on how and where they source their CBD. There are also a few issues with product content and descriptions not adding up or making sense, which I do find a bit off-putting. That’s not to say the products aren’t great quality, but I prefer having more confidence in the brand and products than I felt here. As previously mentioned, the inability to get a response from customer services to answer my questions for this review hasn’t help with my opinion of the brand either.

Cannacares Review In A Nut Shell :

I like the contemporary yet gentle feel to the aesthetics when it comes to the product design. Cannacares feels professional yet more natural and caring. I don’t know if the brand do enough to really stand out in the market right now, but it does provide a gentle touch, and they do offer patches which I’ve not seen from any other CBD brand yet.

This softer feel to the website and product designs gives the Cannacares brand a self-care kind of vibe. The website is streamlined in a way that makes browsing pretty straightforward, so it’s a pleasant experience to navigate and make any purchases.

Most product pages have a reasonable amount of information to help you make an informed decision, though I’ve noticed a few issues with details not adding up here and there, or not being quite right. Also, while some have a third party lab report, not all seem to. If you need more information or want to see a report, get in touch with Cannacares.

The products themselves seem to be decent quality, convenient and pleasant to use. However, when comparing these to other products I’ve used from a brand more recently, the CBD content seem does a bit lower. The strength being lower isn’t a bad thing in itself, but I’d prefer them a tad higher to have more noticeable benefits and be better value for money. This is particularly noticeable with something like the immunity spray, which is a very small 10ml bottle.

All in all, it’s a gentle brand with a decent range of products and the patches are an interesting new step in the CBD arena. I enjoyed trying each of these out, but it’s probably the muscle rub that really caught my attention as something I’d be keen on using again in future.

Unfortunately my issues around poor company contact, lack of information around where the CBD is sourced and errors in product descriptions that make me unsure of the actual content have been rather disappointing. While the website is sleek and products are good quality from what I can tell and a pleasure to use, I sadly can’t honestly give a rave review & recommendation for Cannacares from my own experiences here. That said, there are some positive Trustpilot reviews on the website to give you more confidence before buying.

Thanks for such an honest review Caz; it really helps to make an informed decision about products like these. I’ve considered using CBD oil before, but haven’t as yet. Definitely something I’m considering more and more now though. Would have to do some more research first though.

Charlee: “Mama and Dada used to use CBD for Dennis after he was diagnosed with the severe hip dysplasia and inoperable osteosarcoma of the hip.”
Chaplin: “Yes, Mama would rub the CBD cream inside his big floppy ears and it really seemed to make him feel better.”
Charlee: “Probably both the ear rubbing and the CBD cream made him feel better, but for different reasons.”

Hey Caz, I’ve heard a lot about cbd products but haven’t tried any yet. This brand looks welcoming. Kudos to you for highlighting the company’s lack of transparency and customer service though. Both factors are extremely important. I usually pay heavy attention to customer service reviews when ordering from a company online.
