July Link Up – A Lighter Touch
Today I’m sharing my responses to the A Chronic Voice July Link Up prompts. This post is designed to be a slightly lighter touch on the current events.
The first draft for the link up prompts was done in a very serious manner, but it also turned out to be five pages long and an utter depress-fest to read. We know how difficult these times have been, and if you’re feeling emotionally wrung out from it all then please know that you’re not alone. Sometimes it’s good to soften the edges a little and take a break from the dark reality.
★ ★ ★
BOTHERING
The onslaught of bad news has been bothering most of us lately. Coronavirus, statistics and death tolls, restrictions, violence, protests, racism, crime and riots have taken over daily headlines. Our conversations, social media feeds, radio broadcasts and websites are over-saturated and we’re unsurprisingly becoming overwhelmed.
What’s also bothering me is an unsuspecting victim of the supermarket shelves. We had the Great Loo Roll Shortage of 2020. We had the Great Flour Shortage. Am I the only one who has broken out into a cold sweat over the absence of Kellogg’s Frosties? First they shrink in size, then they jump in price, and now they’ve disappeared entirely. We need our sugared flakes of heaven back, stat! These bad boys are my nighttime faux popcorn snack. Now I’ll be crying into an empty bowl.
NOURISHING
There’s nothing quite like the relief to dry skin from a nourishing cream. At the moment, hand lotion is being applied liberally to dry, cracked hands damaged by extensive sanitising and constant hand washing. I’ll be able to use use my bare hands as a body exfoliator before long. Give it two months and they’ll be rough enough to sand planks of wood.
DEMANDING
Although life may be slowing in some ways, many of us have found that life has become more demanding and increasingly stressful. Everything is taking longer, there are more things to worry about, our health suffers, we’re fearful for ourselves and our loved ones, and we’re having to work harder to keep afloat. These extra demands take a toll.
Even supermarket trips have become more demanding. Granted, I should probably be staying home but I’ve no choice but to go and thus I’m as careful as possible. The trouble is, I feel like I’m in a tiny minority.
Last week, a little boy was with his mum when he pointed to me and – I kid you not – screamed, “mummy, she’s wearing something on her face! She looks silly! What is that, mummy?” What worried me wasn’t that I’d instantly lost my cool credibility, but that I was the first person he’d seen with a mask in all this time.
When shopping, I can count on one hand the number of people wearing a mask in any one trip. I can count on 10 hands, if I possessed that many, the number of people that forget about social distancing and the virus the moment they enter a store. It would take 100 hands to count the swear words I mutter beneath my mask from the moment I enter a store.
Don’t even get me started on Tesco’s evil one way system and the single queue for all tills in a superstore. It’s exhausting to endure that marathon of every aisle, likely more than one, when you’re chronically ill and in agony. It also seems to be more dangerous, and you’re screwed if you reach the finish line only to realise you’ve forgotten the bloody gravy power.
Maybe it would be more efficient if customers were allowed in 5 at a time in a 10 minute game of Supermarket Sweep. Or perhaps we could take a single-file, open-sided train ride down the middle of the aisles. Shoppers would get sticks like fishing for ducks at the fairground, leaning out of the train to snag the produce. Meanwhile, a ring of fire will ensure shoppers don’t disembark early and cheat. I’m sure some of the more sadistic staff would also appreciate cattle prods to enforce the rules.
TOLERATING
I’m usually very patient and I’m not an angry person. I’m open minded and I’m tolerant. However, these past few months have pushed me to a breaking point of sorts, with patience replaced by frustration and anger.
This is the time we should be coming together, not tearing each other apart. This is the time we should be considerate of others, not putting them at risk. My anger has been a deep well, at the bottom of which is hopelessness and despair that I’m not sure I could ever crawl out of. However, it’s this same anger that keeps me going. Some find anger to be a negative emotion that needs to be banished. For me, anger can be a fuel, a spark of energy to persevere and push when I’m otherwise too exhausted. It’s the motivation to fight despite the challenges, in spite of the ignorance, and irrespective of the selfishness of some.
I’m very tolerant, but I have my limits. I cannot tolerate destruction, bullying, racism or prejudice. I’ve lost patience with the government’s failure to value human life above money in order to save face politically. And I’ve no empathy left for the selfishness and ignorance of those putting others at risk through their stupidity or nonchalance during the pandemic.
I also can’t tolerate seafood products (yuck), tomato (childhood fear), mayo (looks like vomit), pigeons or pigeon poop. Turns out there are a lot of things I’m not great at tolerating lately.
TELECOMMUNICATING
We have so much to be thankful for with technology connecting us, especially during the isolating times of the pandemic. I doubt even Einstein could have anticipated it possible to conduct video chats across the globe on a handheld device, or to be able to order a bucket of southern fried chicken via an app.
However, all this telecommunicating also means we’re constantly connected, which can cause stress of its own. Every day I tackle an email inbox full of online surveys that pay less than peanuts (and I wonder why my income barely covers the groceries). Then it’s time to wade through a barrage of phishing and spam emails. All the talk of Viagra and enlargement is starting to make me feel very self-conscious. My penis is already quite impressive, thank you very much!
Continual pings from messaging apps can be enough to make you want to fork your eyes out when you’re exhausted and battling a migraine. As for video chats, I’m frozen like a disheveled deer in headlights. Nuh-uh. No way. This hot mess is for my eyes only.
Does anyone else have a deep-seated fear & disgust when it comes to eating things from the sea? And what are your thoughts on video chats; do you have to have advanced notice to prepare yourself for one?
Caz ♥
This post is intended as a light-hearted take on the prompts. It is not intended to cause any upset or offence, and is based only on my own thoughts and opinions.

Well said. I’m with you on all this, but I think much of it is being done for political reasons. That’s what frustrates me. I will not listen to the media, Hollywood, or most politicians anymore. They are stirring the pot of discontent. I feel much better for turning them all off.
Have a fabulous day, Caz. ♥
Well said, Sandee! There’s far too much lip service going on too, things that don’t make a difference but are done to suggest they do. It’s dangerous and it’s frustrating. I’m with you in turning them all off! xx
I second your nuh-uh. I don’t want other people looking at me on video chat, and I don’t want to be looking at them either.
Hah ???? I’m glad it’s not just me that finds video chat an unpleasant idea! x
I’m so over video chats. I think my biggest problem is not being able to hear very well, though.
I’m sorry you struggle with hearing when its done as a video chat. I find they can be rather tinny sometimes, especially if your computer/phone/tablet speakers aren’t fantastic. I guess at least with video chat there’s the ability to lip read and it’s actually very helpful for the deaf who can see the other person signing. x
I’m not thrilled either to do video chats, mostly I’m just thinking how much I want to press the red button.
Don’t press the big red button, don’t press it…. too late!! ????
I had a video chat this morning where for a moment my face took up the full phone screen instead of being just a little pic in the corner. What a fright! Now I know what my very dear friend has to put up with an hour every Thursday! ????
As for shortages…. Marmite! I’m praying that the yeast shortage will be over now the pubs have reopened! ????
Yikes, I think I would have just hung up out of shock if that had happened to me. Then again, I’d probably spend a while faffing trying to turn it off as I give the other person a view up my nose while holding the phone close to my face ????
Oh wow, I hadn’t realise there was a marmite shortage too. Can you get your fix through Twiglets in the mean time? xx
Video chats are on the rise, but they go unanswered if something is out of place. you have to check yourself and your surroundings before going live video.
There could be all sorts of things you don’t want the other person to see, not realising that you’ve got underwear hanging on the radiators and a cat taking a wee behind you. Yes, we need a little time to make sure everything is suitable! xx
She looks silly? Jesus. Isn’t there a mask obligation there?
Nope. It’s worrying, isn’t it? They’ve only recently made it obligatory to wear some kind of face covering on public transport, but far too many are ignoring it. x
That’s why I don’t go in Tesco. Never did when I knew arrows were going down on floor. One too much instructions while trying to shop.
You were smart, Liz! x
Yeah, people sheeesh, can’t seem to live with them, and can’t kill them 🙂 🙂 Yes, yes, I am only kidding but ???? I am astounded how, well I just realized I was about to repear EVERY thing you said so I will stop. I grew up on seafood, and I love it but I won’t eat it any more if it has not been frozen, and cooked into oblivion to kill all the toxins that are in it now. Growing up on the ocean. It was paradise. Beautiful, pure, peaceful, clean paradise. We caught our dinner every day, took it home, cooked and ate it. Now, they have regulated the fisherman out of business, developed ALL the land for rich out of state people. The water is so polluted from “run off” which is a fancy term for poop in the water that it’s toxic. I haven’t been in the ocean for years, and it is at the end of my road, and surrounds me. It will make you sick, skin diseases, parasites, and the list goes on. hehehe makes me want some fried shrimp, on a hamburger bun lathered in mayo hehehe just for you Caz 🙂 Whatever those video chat things are that you speak of I don’t do them. hahaha 🙂 I have no problem with saying no thank you. Not trying to kid anyone. Not a text, video, email type of gal. I am capable, just not willing 🙂 Send me a letter hehehe.
Hahah ???? Great minds think alike on the people/coronavirus situation then, Margaret. It must be a very different perspective to grow up on seafood but in an authentic way, where you actually caught that dinner every day and saw it through the process of cooking too. Rather different from buying off the shelf. I imagine it also means the way things are going affect you on a more personal levels; it’s awful when you read about land being destroyed, sea life hurt by pollution, the dangers of over fishing. Of course polluted water and nasties in the seafood then mean we’re putting that into our bodies (well, not me as I can barely look at the stuff), and it’s worrying.
Aah letters that actually come through the post box – I miss those!! xx
Hmmm. Maybe you should spare yourself and join the horror (and joy – when it works!) that is called ‘online delivery’ ????
Haha yes, I wish I could have! I wasn’t added to priority delivery for a few weeks with the mishaps over the government lists. When I was added to a supermarket, I couldn’t get any delivery or collection at all. Then I spotted one – hurrah – and 98% of what was in my basket was in stock. It’s been a joke. I really do hope the majority have had better luck with it than me over these past few months.
Excellent post 🙂
Thanks, Leyla, glad you liked it! xx
I absolutely love your writing style! And I totally agree, video chats (or normal calls in general) just make me crazy anxious… Have a lovely day, Caz! Xx
Aw that’s very kind of you, thank you, Jacolene. I used to get very anxious with voice calls, too. I used to have social anxiety quite severely and over time I became more confident on the phone, and I was helped by being forced to do it more through the different jobs I’ve had over the years. But I can’t say I’m a huge fan when it comes to casual chats, they still make me anxious. I’d rather call up a company to discuss something than have a friendly chinwag on the phone. Are you similar? I hope you get plenty of nice emails and no calls this weekend! ????xx
You said exactly what I’m feeling! My Chronic Voice post is scheduled for Monday 13th and I really tried not to be too depressive this time around. At this moment in time I am angry and frustrated. I had to send my children back to school because my key worker husband basically abandoned us and I lost the plot after 3 months alone. Now my marriage is collapsing (issues from way before the pandemic) and all I want to do is run away to some remote island. But we keep going, my home is my sanctuary, and it will all work out in the end.
I’ll look forward to your Chronic Voice post on Monday – I’ve just started following you so thank you for commenting here! I’m sorry you’ve had such a rough time of it, and while I have no idea what happened with your husband, I can only imagine what it’s been like to be left in this situation at home with your children and no other support. I really hope that things can improve one way or the other. Do you think there’s a chance things with your husband will get back on track at some point in the future? I’m sure you’ve both got a lot of stress on your plates at the moment and it all seems very unfair. I don’t blame you wanting to run away to a remote island – mind if I join you?? ???? You’re right, things will be okay. You will get through this. I hope you and the kids have a restful weekend at home. Take good care of yourself.xx
I never liked the way I look on camera, but during Corona the only way to stay in contact with our group therapist was via telemedicine… Aargh…
It’s sad that so many people are against using masks here as well, because there is nothing wrong with protecting others. It really says a lot about our society, and this makes me angry.
Have a great week, Caz xx
Likewise, Viola. I don’t like feeling like I’m getting on my high horse when I say it, but I really do feel that the approach of many (“I’m not wearing a mask or socially distancing, I’m not bothered about this stupid flu”) is incredibly selfish and short-sighted.
You’ve been given little option with the video chats given the need for tele-appointments. Do you think that over time you’ve become more comfortable with it? I hope so, especially I imagine the person on the otherwise is likewise concerned with how they look & come across, and is so caught up in their own anxieties that they think you look fine and don’t give it a second thought. xx
Okay, now that I have composed myself after reading about your spammy emails….
Why are people not wearing masks? Why are you standing out for that reason? It’s crazy! From today in Scotland, by law, we have to wear them in shops as well as public transport. People are exempt if they have a health condition. I guarantee a lot of people will have developed a rare condition and won’t wear one. Due to trigeminal neuralgia, I could legitimately be exempt, but I wear one. Yes, it causes more pain, but I don’t want to get or pass on this virus. I just wish everyone was as considerate as us!
Ok, rant over, I’m off to check my spam emails.
If you end up getting a penis enlargement then I’ll know you had a good discount in those spam emails ???? It’s interesting to see the difference in approach between Scotland & England. I really do hope England follow suits with the masks, but it’s all coming far too late in the day. I can’t begin to imagine the pain and discomfort wearing a tight-fitting mask with TN. If I were in your shoes I’d feel it were worth it to wear one, though I wouldn’t want to be in it for long. You’re right, I wish more people were as considerate. Gosh, some people find it too much effort just to not push past others let alone keep their distance or wear a mask! xx
What a great take on the prompts Caz! I love how you got your point across, even while you managed to make part of it lighthearted. I’ve really struggled with this whole “you’re not going to tell me to wear a mask” situation. People seem to be wearing “not wearing a mask” as some sort of badge of honor. The way I see it, when I’m wearing a mask, I’m saying, “I care about others enough not to take a chance on making them sick if I happen to have the virus without knowing it.” If that makes me look weak, then so be it. I care more about protecting people than what they think about me. And I agree, now is the time for us all to come together. There’s no room in this world for division and hatred. If we could all just treat each other with respect, we could make a whole lot of progress. Thanks for giving me a good laugh this morning too — “My penis is already quite impressive, thank you very much!” had me cracking up!
So very well said, Terri. What pees me off about this not-wearing-a-mask-badge-of-honour is that those people are making it solely about themselves. “I don’t need to wear a mask, I’m not bothered about some pesky virus”. I want to shake them and shout “it’s not about you!” Sadly for too many people now it’s too late for the virus to be taken more seriously and for these selfish individuals to start thinking about anyone other than themselves. I can empathise a lot with fear and uncertainty and the way people behave in those cases. I can’t empathise any more with those putting others at risk because they can’t be bothered or because they think they won’t get it, while not paying thought to how they are the problem if they’re unknowingly spreading this virus to others who may not be as lucky. And I think that’s what a lot of this is. Luck of the drawer. There have been enough otherwise fit and healthy people that have become very sick or have died. I don’t know what it takes to make people, let alone our governments, start caring seriously. But alas, this all gets very deep and very depressing. It was refreshing to write about penis enlargements!
Thanks for the great comment, Terri. Take good care of yourself & have a relaxing weekend xx
Love this lighthearted and hilarious in places post. Particularly the Tesco one-way system, the shortage of shrinking and over-priced Frosties, and the idea of a supermarket sweep game lol. But this is my favourite My penis is already quite impressive, thank you very much!
Glad you liked it, fellow Caz! I wasn’t sure if the penis thing would offend anyone but damn, if we can’t be proud about these then what can we do?! ???? xx
Honest to goodness, I just love you & your humor, Caz! You ALWAYS make me laugh someway, somehow! What a welcomed joy this post is this morning. Whew, needing some serious humor over here! Thank you!
And first business must be first — I’m grateful your penis is already impressive. ???? No shame, Caz, no shame!
YES!! I wholeheartedly agree with you about video chats. I’m the type of personality that needs to be prepared for any kind of social interaction – on camera or not. I need to be in the ‘right frame of mind.’ Probably not the best way to be, but it’s true. Video chats can be unbelievably intrusive and awkward. “Disheveled deer in headlights,” — too funny!
“Great Loo Roll Shortage of 2020,” — cracking up over here. What a mess! If we don’t laugh right now, we just might cry! I think so much of what we’ve recently been through won’t even be really known until we look back on these times and think, “Wow! We made it through THAT?” Some days it feels like we just put one foot in front of the other and push through. Maybe we need to be much more focused on rest and laughter?
Another absolutely brilliant post, Caz! You’re the best and bring much happiness into this home. ♥ Sending all my love!
Talking of humour, I LOVED your recent funnies post, absolutely brilliant!! You really know you need it when you realise you haven’t laughed in so long that it hurts every part of your face ????
Hey, we should never have to apologise for our penis size. I won’t be bullied by spam emails. I’m impressive enough as I am! (I’m really hoping people understand this is a weird joke and that I don’t in fact, have a penis).
You’re right about video chats being awkward and intrusive. I need forewarning too. I was on a call with my GP a few weeks ago and she said ‘oh can we change this chat to a video for a moment so I can see your breathing, just to measure your chest and see what difficulties you’re having?’ My answer was so, so reluctant! “Ummmmm yeeeeeeah?”
Oh absolutely, it will be so strange looking back at this pandemic and seeing it from the other perspective of what we’ve overcome. Some things will seem crazy and I don’t think our opinions on our government reactions will change for the better, we can’t look back and think ‘nah, they didn’t do so badly after all’. I think more rest and more laughter is important to get through this somewhat in tact. Plus, all the stress and seriousness weighing on our shoulders only worsens our health and negatively impacts our immune system, which is the opposite to what we need right now.
Thanks for another wonderful comment, Holly! Have a restful weekend lovely xx
???? Amen, my friend, amen! I know *exactly* what you mean about knowing we need to laugh when a great laugh makes our faces hurt. I laughed when I read that. You really do have a killer sense of humor. It makes me smile to know that I could bring some joy into your day!
???????????? You are hilarious. This right here: ” (I’m really hoping people understand this is a weird joke and that I don’t in fact, have a penis).” — Heaven only knows what might be thought these days. ????????♀️
Oh no! That would be awkward, having to suddenly video chat with your GP! I am grateful you have that kind of service available to you, though. Did you feel like she helped you at all?
I’m afraid you’re right about how we’ll feel concerning the mishandling (at best) of this whole pandemic. Words can’t express how my heart goes out to the people who have lost everything. So many here have lost their jobs, their homes, their loved ones, and so much more. It just nearly brings me to tears. I wish there was more I could do besides pray, but sadly, I don’t think there is.
You’re 100% right about rest and laughter! They are critical, now, more than ever, to our well-being. Stress kills in a multitude of ways. We don’t need that on top of everything else!
I hope your week is going beautifully, my friend. Sending much love and big hugs your way! ???? Thanks, as always, for the laughs only you can give!
I don’t like any kind of unannounced calls really, unless there’s an emergency! You can message me any time though. Strange how that’s changed. I only said to S this morning – because my phone rang unexpectedly, how different I am now from the kid who got ridiculously excited when the home phone rang, because it might be one of my friends wanting a chat! Maybe it’s because I spend so much time on calls all day. If I’m chatting to a friend, the time can run away with me – it was 3.5 hours yesterday, although that was a bit of a marathon! But I do like to have notice.
Covid rage is a thing. I’m not massively patient with stupid behaviour at the best of times, but I have found myself getting really angry with people’s lack of concern for others lately. It’s bad enough that so many people are suffering with this disease. But some of it is avoidable if people would just be a bit more considerate.
I love your deer picture by the way, and even more the fact that you described it! He can have a weekend off from video calls!
Take care and stay safe xx
Wow, that was a long chat with your friend! I’ve found the same with chats getting quite lengthy with people; it’s rare I have them but when I do we can natter away for ages. I think part of that is because they’re people I don’t see ‘in real life’ so it’s making up for lack of face to face contact. I used to love the phone when I was little for the same reason as you, getting excited a friend might be calling to chat! Then some point after those early years I developed severe social anxiety and I hated the phone, getting far too anxious to talk on it with anyone. Not any more, but I’m not a huge fan unless it’s for dealing with companies and such. I hope you have one of those contracts or monthly rolling contracts with unlimited minutes, Kirsty!
You’re right. Some degree of this pandemic would be lessened if people were just a bit more considerate. It’s not something that we can afford to take lightly, so I’m bloody angry with the nonchalance about it all. Covid rage – yep, that about sums it up!
Thanks for the comment, Kirsty. I hope you & S have a relaxing weekend ♥ xx
I’m still isolating with he who must be shielded and we have some pretty good local deliveries – I must admit I am glad to be avoiding shops. But wondering what it was like shopping at our local places I naively asked on our local Facebook page what people thought about masks. On my brief walks out I have not seen many masks. My post was inundated with comments – most of them arguing with each other about how Vital or how Lethal masks are! Not to.mention that we have all been conned into losing our freedom for a non existant threat!
I’m glad you’ve been able to get some good local deliveries, Janet. Keep home and safe, and avoid reading inane comments from those saying that the pandemic is a fictions sham. I don’t know how they have the nerve to say it’s not a threat when so many have died. Do you have masks, Janet, for if/when you go out again? I’ve not seen many wearing masks at all, and I find it disconcerting. I’m hoping that England will follow suit after Scotland and make masks compulsory for public indoor spaces like shops, but we’ll see. xx
I am surprised by the number of people wearing masks in the UK. Here in Ontario, most of the local communities made a bylaw that masks are mandatory in public places until the fall. I am a bit the opposite of you in food. I do like most of the things that come from the sea. Have a good weekend. Svet
It’s interesting to hear how other countries are managing the pandemic, and also how the general public are responding, too. I wish more in the UK would follow suit with masks; surely if they’re used safely then they’re better than nothing. On the streets at the moment it’s just a free for all, like when I went into town earlier. Very disconcerting.
The seafood is all yours, Svet!! ???? Thanks for commenting – stay safe lovely xx
We’ve had so many ridiculous mask spats here in the U.S. ― I personally have at least three friends who have gotten into arguments with or because of other people not wearing masks out in public. Of course, our problem starts at the top and flows down … ????
When it comes to things from the sea, I’ll eat most kinds of shellfish, but no octopus for me, thanks. Also, I’m not fond of cooked fish, but I’ll happily eat it raw in sushi or poke. My folks think that’s very weird of me …
Oh dear. I’ve actually seen a few online videos of people having arguments because someone’s been called out for not wearing a mask. I don’t understand why some folks, who don’t have breathing or other issues that may exempt them, don’t see that it’s not just them that the masks are protecting. If they’re not bothered about the virus themselves, then they should at least think of others as they may be carriers and spreading it without realising. I suppose given heightened anxieties and tensions it’s not surprising arguments will ensue, especially with no definitive science behind masks and the virus.
Raw fish, you can keep that, James! Makes me queasy just thinking about it… ???? x
Hi Caz,
So glad to have stumbled upon your post. I love how you lighten up the seriousness of what we are all dealing with. I’m in fits of laughter over your take on things. ???? it’s a clever thing to leave the reader feeling lighter after reading a blog post about Covid, and Caz, you nailed it! I really enjoyed your writing style xx
Aww I’m so glad you liked the post! Thank you for commenting, I really appreciate it. I’ve been to check out your blog too & I think you’ve made some very poignant points in your coverage of the prompts. The mental health toll of the pandemic and lockdown shouldn’t be underestimated. Stay safe & take good care of yourself, Kimberlee xx
Hi, Caz! I hope you at least felt a bit better after writing all that yuck down. I loved your funny spin on these prompts. I cannot get groceries delivered where I live. I try to get a couple weeks worth of stuff when I go out, but that makes shopping EXTRA, SUPER exhausting. Sending hugs your way.
Thank you very much, Kathryn! I’m glad you liked the lighter take on things; I had to delete the first draft(s) that were pages of negativity. I think most of us likely have a lot of it building up that needs a release right about now. I’m sorry you’ve not been able to get any grocery deliveries either, that’s so frustrating. Where abouts do you live, if you don’t mind me asking? I was hoping there would be some way of calling a nearby supermarket to let them know you’re struggling and see if they can find a slot for you. You’re right, each shop is utterly exhausting. I’d do anything to go back to the ‘normal’ exhausting shops, and coming home without having to anti-bac everything. Those were the days! Sending hugs right back at’cha lovely. Hang in there ♥ xx
OMG, you’re hilarious, Caz! Love it! ♥♥♥
Haha glad you liked Lily, thanks!! ???? ♥ xx
This got me to crack up quite a few times????????
Thanks for this….. many of us really needed this to help process everything happening around us.
????????
A little lightness is good for the soul ???? Glad you liked it, thank you very much for reading & letting me know! I hope you have a great rest of your week. Stay safe.x
Thank you sharing such a fun and light-hearted post! It has been such a hard, and demanding time for us all, and I think we could all use some more laughs with all the stress and anxity the situation has created! I haven’t really been out much since the easing of lockdown, apart from a quick apppintment at the hairdressers but can only imagine how stressful and demanding going to the shops can be! Such a nightmare, and some stories I’ve heard that I’m glad that I am staying away! Great post Caz, and btw love the new heading!!
You’re right about what a hard & demanding time it is for many of us. A little lightness is definitely needed, now more than ever. I’m finding going out increasingly frustrating with this air of nonchalance hitting as people get bored of the novelty of a pandemic, it’s very unsettling. Hopefully the mask requirements will help, but who knows. It’s amazing that you made it do the hairdressers – did it all go well? I think you’re on the right track with staying away as much as you can. I just go when necessary for food shopping and such, but if I had the choice I wouldn’t go out at all. Oh how we now all miss the days of going out with a virus to ruin everything!
Aww I’m really glad you like the new header! I’ve had some feedback to suggest the ‘Me’ part needs to be separate, so I’m going to have to redo it a little. I’m still not happy with it. I don’t think I ever will be because the more I look at it the more I hate it ???? Stay safe lovely & have a restful weekend.xx
