I’m always keen to try new products, so I was delighted when Orange County got in touch to ask me to check out their stuff. CBD is a blooming industry and these guys have done an amazing job cultivating a colourful, exciting range of top quality CBD products. 

About The Brand

This is a small Liverpool-based UK brand that begun life as an idea by two local guys who wanted to bring CBD to the world. Since its inception in 2019, Orange County CBD has grown exponentially, offering a wealth of new products and earning itself an array of 19 industry awards to date. 

They offer a diverse range of colourful, fun and exciting products, taking CBD far beyond a bland tincture bottle.

The two dudes who started this venture have considerable drive for helping people and take great pride in the development of their products. The passion shows, with a company that knows their products, takes delight in the brand, and cares about their customers. 

These guys have a raft of awards under their belt already. For instance, their delicious edible range has won Orange County CBD the 1st place prize in the 2020 Canex Awards for edibles. They’ve also won various awards at the Hemp & CBD Expo 2020, from Best Innovation and Best Extract to Best Packaging, all of which I’d agree with. At the Cannavist Awards, they took First Place for Best Vape, Best Tincture and Product Of The Year. A little greedy, aren’t they? They’ve done amazingly well.

The Orange County CBD Product Range 

Given this is still a relatively new brand, the product range is already nicely varied and plentiful. There’s something for everyone in terms of product type, price and CBD strength.

Certification of analysis from the laboratory is available on product pages, providing reassurance as to the ingredients and manufacture of these CBD goodies. On the product pages you’ll also find a detailed product description, ingredients, directions for use, information on the brand’s quality and FAQs. The pages provide a thorough run-down of the products so you know what to expect, giving you enough information to make an informed decision of whether it’s something you want to try.

Orange County is actually the first CBD company anywhere in the world to incorporate the peel sticker on products, where you peel back the sticker to reveal further information and dosage directions underneath. This also enables them to include a QR code which can be scanned to take you directly to the relevant lab reports. It shows that Orange County is on trend with user needs and technological advancement.

Website & Customer Service 

My interactions with the brand have been really positive. I’ve been dealing with a member of staff at Orange County who has been incredibly warm, friendly and helpful. The team seem genuinely passionate about their products and they’re keen to help customers in any way possible. They’ve been a pleasure to deal with so this makes me feel more confident in recommending the brand. From my experience, I’d anticipate quality service and responsive support for any queries.

There are a few ways to contact the brand if you have any enquiries. You can use the contact forms on the website, give them a call, drop them an email, write to their headquarters, use the online chat or visit them on social media. I like that the brand is easy to reach, whatever your preferred method of contact.

The website is clearly laid out and easy to navigate, whether you want to browse product types or search for a particular item. Product pages are thorough, images are plentiful, and there’s adequate information to make browsing and buying a well-supported, user-friendly experience.

Product Quality 

Orange County provide further information on their website about where and how they cultivate their CBD. This is really important for reassurance and quality purposes. Any company that tries to hide how it’s made or even what country it’s made in is not one that I would personally trust. 

The Orange County CBD comes from the finest hemp plants grown on GMP certified, pesticide-free and non-GMO farms in the United States. Their industry-leading extraction process is solvent-free, keeping excess chemicals to a minimum so as to end up with the cleanest CBD experience possible. 

You’ll notice that the CBD in Orange County products is referred to as “broad-spectrum”. This essentially means that they include CBD alongside other cannabinoids which results in the so-called “entourage effect” to enhance the CBD.

The products are also totally THC-free. There’s no psychoactive component so nothing with get you high. CBD is legal in many countries, including the UK. 

The products developed are regularly tested for quality and accuracy. They’re also tested via independent labs to ensure accurate pesticide and cannabinoid profiles. The reports are readily available on the website. While product pages typically include an image of the lab statistics, the products themselves may also feature a QR code that can be scanned to take you directly to the latest lab reports.

Orange County CBD ship worldwide, with a few exceptions unfortunately such as Australia and Malaysia. Parcel shipping is tracked and, I think, a reasonable price.

My Products In Review

CBD Gummy Cherries

Their gummy cherries come in two different size tubs, each with different corresponding strength choices : Small tubs (strength options 400mg, 800mg and 1200mg) and large tubs (strength options 1600mg, 3200mg, 4800mg).

I was gifted the large tub, which contains 70 cherries at 1600mg strength. This means each gummy cherry contains 23mg CBD. 

As a lover of Haribo, I was practically drooling at the sight of these and the glint of sugar that dusted them. I talk in past tense because I’ve already eaten most of these bad boys.

They’re tangy with a lovely sourness to override the natural smell and taste of CBD. If you’ve had general, unflavoured CBD oil before, you’ll know that musty, earthy kind of smell and rather unpleasant taste it naturally has. Adding flavours is a great way to offset this, and putting it into gummies is even better because it’s more satisfying when you want a chewy treat for your sweet tooth. 

What can I say? Yum yum! The Orange County cherries are softer than I initially anticipated, probably because I’d been thinking about Haribo Tangfastics, which are far harder to bite into and chew. This was a pleasant surprise as I really like this softer texture. These cherries are probably a little too easy for me to eat!

The flavouring is sweet without being sickly, and the fruity, tangy zest works well for a pick-me-up in the afternoon. Of course you can eat them whenever you wish, but I’ve found myself gravitating towards the tub when I’m most flagging and in need of something sweet and a little invigorating. 

While the gummy is softer, they have a nice crunch with the outer sugar coating and after a few chews, what remains almost melts in your mouth. You get a lot in the large tub, too, making them good for sharing or great for eating little by little as you can safely store them for freshness. They’re sugary heaven and I absolutely love them!

Muscle & Joint CBD Rub

This balm is designed to deliver a targeted dose of CBD to your joints or deep into your muscles, getting to work where you need the cannabidiol benefits the most. With added natural ingredients and essential oils, this rub aims to provide the general benefits of CBD along with soothing relief for aching joints or knotted muscles.

For every 50ml of this Muscle & Joint Balm, you’ll get 800mg Broad-Spectrum Hemp Extract. 

To use, apply and gently massage a thin layer of the balm to the area you wish to treat as and when required, not exceeding 3-4 times on a single day.

If you have generally achey joints, sore or knotted muscles, conditions like fibromyalgia or MS, or forms of arthritis, a muscle rub can be just one tool in the toolbox for managing the issues. A CBD rub takes that one step further, delivering a dose of the benefits of CBD at the same time. 

This is simple to use, with a robust dispenser that allows for an ergonomically, mess-free experience. The creamy rub itself is a silky smooth texture and just the right consistency for it to spread and absorb nicely, without a sticky or greasy residue. 

It’s very soothing for muscles and joints, and I found it effective at relieving tension and aches. I’ve been mostly using this for relief on my shoulders/neck area and it’s great for working into the knotted muscles. I’ve also used it for my lower back, hips and hands, so a little goes a long way and it’s versatile for different areas and types of issues. 

The Muscle & Joint Rub is as effective as it is pleasant to use. I’d say that it’s an effective tool in the toolkit for managing chronic pain or just day to day aches.

Wild Cherry CBD Oil

The Wild Cherry CBD oil comes in a 30ml bottle with 3 strength options, plus the option to have either a pipette or spray. The strengths include 500mg, 1000mg and 1500mg. 

This CBD oil is a popular staple of the Orange County CBD range. Bringing the best of the CBD in its standard form, Orange County have livened it up with a sweet cheery flavour to make it significantly more palatable and enjoyable than typical unflavoured CBD. 

With natural flavourings and broad spectrum hemp-derived CBD, this is a straightforward classic for easy use wherever you are. Simply shake the bottle and drop the desired amount of oil on or under your tongue, let it sit for around 30-60 seconds for it to absorb, and then swallow what’s remaining. 

How much should you use? Everyone is different, so again it’s a case of seeing what works for you and building up slowly. Further information can be found on the label itself, just peel it back to reveal the extra info. It’s worth noting that the FSA recommends a maximum of 70mg CBD in a day.

Orange County provide estimates of the CBD contents. For instance, with the 500mg bottle, each full pipette is estimated to contain 17mg of CBD, with a single drop containing around 0.83mg. 

If you’re new to CBD oil – or you’ve tried the standard stuff and found it pretty harsh in terms of smell and taste – then this is a great alternative. The tangy cherry makes it far more appetising.

I’d probably opt for this first thing in the morning or before bed. For example, before bed you might want to skip gummies or sugar after brushing your teeth and instead go for a simple but yummy CBD oil to soothe anxiety and help you get some good sleep.  

I really like the option here for getting it with a pipette or spray so you can customise it to your preference. Either way gives good results. It’s convenient for use at home or to take out with you on the go. It tastes refreshing and using this under the tongue is a good way for quick, effective absorption. A brilliant alternative to standard (yucky tasting) CBD oil.

CBD Gummy Worms

The Gummy Worms are available in a small tub, large tub and grab bag. I received the grab bag, which contains 8 mixed fruit flavour CBD worms. The product contains 200mg CBD in total, which equates to 25mg CBD per wriggly worm, a very respectable quantity that I think suits this type of product well.

No equipment is needed to enjoy these other than a mandible and preferably some teeth. 

While they may seem like delicious sweets, you do need to keep an eye on how many you’re munching. It’ll vary for everyone, so start small and build up to see what works for you.

These are chewy, delicious worm-shaped gummies that make CBD far more enjoyable and tasty. The flavour range is delightfully fruity and I couldn’t really glean the usual taste of CBD at all, which is brilliant.

The packaging, much like the packaging for the rest of the range, is colourful and inviting. The grab pack is a neat size for personal use, sharing or gifting, and it’s also a good idea if you’re trying these out for the first time and aren’t sure whether CBD is for you. 

I really like the fun-loving aspect of these and the mix of fruity flavours is fantastic. What’s not to love?

Orange County CBD Review : In Conclusion 

It’s great to see a company that started as two guys with a cannabidiol-laced dream flourish as much as this one has. It’s still relatively new in the CBD arena, and yet they’ve already developed a fantastic repertoire of products.

I love the colourful nature of the company which comes through in their product types and even funky packaging. They pay attention to detail, while continuing to focus on delivering the best quality CBD and top-notch customer service.

The information on the procurement and the lab reports gives me confidence in the ingredients, something which is often lacking in other CBD companies. With so many brands edging in on the market, you don’t know who to trust or which products are the real deal. This may particularly be the case for those new to CBD, which is where product reviews can come in handy.

From my experience with the company and with road-testing their dangerously delicious CBD goodies, I can easily give them a thumbs up. I hope Orange County have a tasty future ahead of themselves and I’ll be interested to see how they develop from here.
