6 Ways To Lift Your Look

by InvisiblyMe

Today we’re going with something a little different. To step away from the bad news just temporarily, here’s a collaborative post on 6 ways to give your look a little revamp. Enjoy!

★★★

There’s no escaping the fact that appearances count for a lot in this life. Looking good makes us feel good while it can also influence the way that others respond in a range of situations. Therefore, unlocking your full potential in this aspect of life is one of the smartest things you’ll ever do.

Cosmetic surgery works well for some people. However, most would prefer to avoid this route due to financial limitations and personal preferences. So, how can you gain the rewards you crave without injections or going under the knife. Here’s all you need to know.

1| Lead A Healthier Lifestyle

In many ways, your physical appearance is a reflection of your health. Therefore, committing to a healthier lifestyle is an ideal starting point. Good hydration, spending more time outside, and relieving stress can all lead to improved skin, smiles, and general looks.

A healthy lifestyle requires a comprehensive approach. Crucially, you must invest in a level of consistency to see genuine improvements in your look as well as your lifestyle. Some of the most significant elements include:

  • Staying active if possible and eating well to achieve and maintain a positive body image.
  • Focusing on getting a good night’s sleep to aid your skin, teeth, hair, and nails.
  • Quit excessive drinking, smoking, and other negative influences.
  • Enjoying regular screen breaks and time to stretch for the sake of your posture.
  • Appreciate food intolerances and other allergies that can impact your life.

On a separate note, it’s important to acknowledge any health issues you experience. While you may think that wearing glasses or contact lenses will harm your look, it’s far better than straining. Besides, there are plenty of great designs on the market. Things like hearing aids and back supports can assist your health and wellbeing, too.

2| Treat Your Skin

The old cliché that beauty is only skin deep is designed to make people value personalities. In reality, though, it also underlines the importance of taking great care of your skin. When your skin is in poor condition, it takes a lot of effort to overcome the issues. As such, it’s far better to take care of the skin.

Using a moisturing cream, such as Aveeno, will help your skin maintain a natural glow. However, there are several additional steps that will help prevent damage and repair the skin’s elasticity. Some of the steps bring short-lived benefits while others are longer-term. Either way, the following all help:

  • Wear sunblock in the sun and protection when it’s cold and windy.
  • Clean and exfoliate your skin on a regular basis.
  • Get a facial treatment, either professionally or from a friend.
  • Try to restore chemical balances within the body.
  • Avoid too much time sitting in front of computer and smartphone screens.

Some people suffer from a psychological condition known as dermatophagia. If you are one of them, it’s important to find ways to stop the biting. This can be achieved through over the counter products as well as hypnosis and a range of alternative treatments. Show your skin the TLC it deserves. You won’t regret it.

3| Invest In Your Smile

OK, so fixing your smile may require cosmetic work. However, you can still achieve this transformation without the need for veneers or extracting teeth. As long as you choose the right treatments, it can be the perfect way to boost your look. After all, we all crave a winning smile.

It’s important to find the right type of dentist for your requirements. However, the best ones can use a range of treatments to correct the shape and alignment of your teeth. They can also help to restore the natural glow and sparkle. The most effective options include:

  • Professional teeth whitening process.
  • Invisible braces and other alignment devices.
  • Bridges and crowns.
  • Fillings.
  • Scale and polish treatments.

Professional work should be followed by the right daily care. In addition to brushing, flossing, and mouthwash, other products are available. Whitening gels from Opalescence are a great example. With a little research and an ongoing commitment, you won’t go far wrong.

4| Utilise Cosmetic Products

You want to avoid permanent and semi-permanent cosmetic surgery. However, cosmetic products like makeup can transform your look on a temporary basis without any long-term side effects, as long as you choose safe ingredients. In addition to supporting your body, this is a great way to help the planet.

Many women find just a light application of makeup enough to do the trick. Whether it’s for a big night out or an important business meeting, the right approach will enhance your look and confidence. It’s easy to learn new techniques via online tutorials. The best assignments to master include:

  • Finding the right foundation for a natural glow, supported by contouring.
  • Mastering eye shadow, eyeliner, and fake lashes applications.
  • Getting the plump lip look with lip liner and lipstick.
  • Using nourishing nail protector, varnish, or even fake nails and nail art, to make your hands look beautiful.
  • Applying setting spray for a longer lasting look.

It’s important to remove makeup before bed, or you could see negative impacts. Likewise, makeup applications aren’t needed in every situation. Nonetheless, with the right products and skills at your disposal, it’s possible to gain an instant transformation. It can be a lifesaver in various settings and scenarios.

5| Change Your Hairstyle

A new hairstyle is another way to completely transform your appearance with immediate results. It can revamp your look with a new energy, and will be noticed by friends and family. After all, a winning hairstyle isn’t only about your hair. It can help shape your entire face while also expressing personality.

Visiting a salon provides the professional outcome you desire. Meanwhile, you can plan for the trip by checking the latest hair trends at Allure. When picking the right hairstyle, there are many contributing factors to consider. They include but are not limited to:

  • Will the colour suit my natural colouring?
  • Is the style suitable for my work and lifestyle?
  • Does the style suit the thickness of my hair?
  • How much maintenance is required?
  • Am I confident enough to rock this style?

The new hairstyle doesn’t need to be the complete opposite of your current look. Even a relatively subtle change can bring the desired improvements for your appearance and confidence. With a few hairstyle tricks up your sleeves, you’ll be ready for every situation. What more could you want?

6| Alter Your Style

Your appearance isn’t influenced solely by your natural beauty or even the makeup you wear. Clothing choices can have an equally significant impact, which is something you must accept and respect right away. When you do it well, it can bring your entire appearance together.

Whether opting for the high-class look or a retro vibe doesn’t matter. There are a number of issues that need to be considered when creating your look. Meanwhile, you should remember that it’s OK to have a fluid style that changes regarding the setting that you’re in at any time. The best features are:

  • Find the right footwear and build from the feet up.
  • Choose clothing products that are comfortable and well-fitted.
  • Select styles that reflect your aura and the traits you wish to evoke.
  • Focus on finding accessories that provide a distinct look.
  • Think about the situation in which you’ll wear the outfit.

From professional vibes to recreational wear, the right choice of attire can transform your look. You only need to look at the biggest fashion disasters to see how getting it wrong can cause problems. Likewise, the best looking celebrities can provide a lot of inspiration. Although you need to be you.

For me, I’ve invested in my smile. I wondered why people would walk past me without speaking at times. Later I found out the I had a look on my face that suggested: “Don’t Bother Me.” I make it a habit of smiling at people now when they approach me or pass by. The response is amazing! A smile can go a long way, even on bad days.

All fantastic tips which I have implemented. One question Caz, a recommendation in connection with wearing sunscreen. I have read on the ms trust website “the most important source of vitamin D is through exposure of the skin to sunlight. If you have fair skin, you just need 20-30 minutes of sunlight on your face and forearms 2-3 times a week” If I wear sunscreen for these 20-30 mins will that affect my body’s ability to absorb the sunlight? I agree with the importance of wearing sunscreen as I am fair skinned and understand the importance of protecting myself whilst in the sun. However, if I spend 20 minutes three times a week in the sun outside of the peak hours when the sun is at it’s hottest (before 11am or after 3pm) and wear sunscreen the rest of the time would this be a good course of action to get suns rays safely whilst protecting my skin? Provoking thought ????

It’s definitely an interesting one because I’ve read of the reduction of Vitamin D absorption with sunscreen, too. I wouldn’t, personally, recommend going out when the sun is the most powerful without sunscreen, but for me I’d go without it for odd bits of time outdoors and walking around when it’s not too hot. I use Nature’s Aid Vit D drops but there are lots of types on Amazon from capsules to oils – https://amzn.to/2UWpDUT and I posted a few bits of info on Vit D before too – https://invisiblyme.com/2018/11/19/vitamin-d-winter-products/

I imagine experts would say any duration in powerful sunlight could be dangerous without sunscreen (and I’m no expert so all I could actually say here is ‘ask your pharmacist’). Really interesting comment, thank you and I hope you can get enough vitamin D goodness safely xx

You have given me the idea Caz, will we even recognise our real life friends when we come out of isolation? They may have changed, aged with worry or with no access to hairdressers will look completely different. On the positive side they might have had a complete change of image.

Thank you Caz! You always have the best advice! Honestly, I needed this because I have been feeling like a fat ugly cow lately and my husband tells me I am crazy, which isn’t very nice! I hope you have a great day and please be safe!

Hahah aww Alys, I’m afraid your hubby is right! You’re very hard on yourself and I wish you could see how others see you. I also feel like the ‘fat ugly cow’ feeling isn’t related to weight as much as we think. When I’ve been underweight I’ve still felt like that. It can be such a mixture of other things. You’re beautiful & awesome just as you are my friend.xx
