This day can be difficult and painful for many; I don’t want to be insensitive covering Mother’s Day so please feel free to avoid this post if it may be triggering. There are many who don’t have a relationship with their mothers, and those who have traumatic ones. Then there are those who have said goodbye to their mothers. I’d therefore like to take a moment to give thought & love to everyone struggling today, and to those who have lost their mums. They will always have a special place in our hearts.
My Mother’s Day Card For This Year
I spotted one and knew straight away it was perfect. My mother is often calling me a sarcastic little shit, though thankfully with a smile on her face! π
YouSaidIt cards offer something different to the norm, and I love that because cards can get a bit same-y over the years. I was lucky enough to be sent a free card of my choice to share my results with you lovely lot. I’m really glad to have discovered this brand because I can already see some other designs that would be perfect for father’s day and other birthdays later in the year. Those unlucky victims delightful recipients will be in for a treat!
About YouSaidIt
Mixing offence with entertainment and giggles, YouSaidIt offer something a little different to the norm. And I love it! They have a range of interesting, unique, politically incorrect, hilarious & novel greetings cards. They cover all occasions & holidays, and they also have a section for gifting goodness, like badges, mirrors & mugs. So many of these make me giggle, like the βI like dogs more than peopleβ and the βpiss off Iβm busyβ mugs.
Thereβs a good range of designs on cards and gifts, from gentle insults and light comedy, to unapologetic swearing in big bold letters to make your card/gift truly memorable π If youβre easily offended, avert your eyes when looking at some of these.
I think the range is fantastic for being novel and unique, guaranteed to raise eyebrows and give the recipient a chuckle. Cards can get pretty boring and routine when buying from the shops, so YouSaidIt shakes things up a bit. I also like that you can customise the card, adding writing inside if you wish, and you can choose the colour envelope, too.
Card delivery is the price of a stamp, so 1st class is 67p, and 20p for additional items. Youβll get your card within 1-3 working days.
I ordered my card on the weekend and on Monday it was dispatched, which is super quick! It arrived on Wednesday, via standard 2nd class delivery, and came packaged in a cardboard-backed envelope. The card itself comes in plastic wrapping to keep it protected.
You can get yourself 15% off your order at YouSaidIt – just enter the code
“bloggerm19” at the checkout! Offer ends end of June 2019.
My Mother’s Day Shout Out
My mum is a gentle soul with a quick wit, sarcastic edge (wonder where I get it from), kind heart and patience of a saint. That patience has surely been tested with my declining health, rising anxiety & the challenges we’ve all faced from day to day. She has always been there for me, believing in me, talking me back from the edge, and we always manage to have a giggle. She’s also a crossword ninja & can be a sarcastic little shit herself, and I love that about her. She is an inspiration to me for her compassion tempered with a strength that knows no bounds. She is beautiful. My friend, always.
Whatever you’re up to this weekend, I hope you have a restful, relaxing one. Be kind to yourselves.

Hah, this would have been perfect for them to send you then! How are you doing? I was sad that your blog disappeared. Are you thinking of doing a new one at all? I do hope you & the family are keeping okay π

I love that card as well…you did a great job setting up the way in which everyone approaches this day – or avoids it, but that card gives the recipient a fun way to know they are appreciated…nice post
It’s a tricky one, I hope I did okay with it as I wanted to do a little tribute for it without being insensitive. Thanks very much for the comment, John! I hope you’re having a relaxing weekend π
Loved that card, great job Caz. Love ???? Anjali
Glad you liked it, too! Thanks Anjali – Have a great week ahead π

LOVE your card and your Mum sounds amazing. I lost my Mum in 2009. I just said to my husband that it doesn’t seem like almost 10 years already. You’re not being insensitive at all by posting about Mother’s Day. I consider myself lucky to have had an amazing Mum too xx
Oh Liz, I’m so sorry. I can only imagine how much you must miss her, but I’m sure she’s grateful to have had an amazing daughter too. Thank you so much for your comment ???? xx
Shoot! Is it Mother’s Day already???
Time flies..! It’s 31st March in the UK but don’t worry, it’s not until 12th May in the US π
I love cards that are a bit different, this one is great. I miss my mom every day, she passed in 2004. Your graced with your mom. Blessings to you both. <3
I am so sorry about your mum, I can only imagine the heartache and of course it never goes away. I hope this post didn’t upset you. I wasn’t sure whether to do it as I want to be mindful of others. I know I’m blessed for my mom. Hugs to you and thank you, Masha. You are a beautiful soul. Have a lovely week Β β₯ xx
Aw Caz, this is such a sweet post! You and your mom are both very beautiful ladies, inside & out! I’m grateful you two have such a loving relationship. That relationship can be completely life changing <3
The card…well, that's just too cute. Sounds like they've got some real doozies to choose from π

Sounds like you have a great relationship with your mum T xx

I love this so much! Thank you for sharing!… Thing one and I have our own language and this is perfect. Yesterday when I was typing “I love you honey”, it came out “I live you homey”. So that’s our new thing for the week.
That’s so awesome, your own language, I love that. Hehee the typo made me chuckle, I can see that one being the new phrase between you two for a while! Thank you for the fab comment, Grace – Have a lovely week ahead π
xx
Great card! Sarcasm runs rampant in my family : )
That’s my kind of family! π
Have a lovely week ahead, Cheryl xx
I think it’s wonderful that you and your mom are friends. That’s the way I think it should be when your kids grow up. I always looked forward to having that kind of a relationship with both my girls. I have it with one but not the other. I treasure our friendship and feel so lucky to have it. Lovely post Caz. π
You’re right, ideally it would be more like friendship as children grow older but it doesn’t always work that way, so I count myself very lucky. Even if you’re not as close with your other daughter, there’s still love there (I won’t pry so I’ll leave it at that), and it’s wonderful you can have more of a friendship with your other daughter. That’s precious. Thank you for the sweet comment – Happy Mother’s Day π
xx
A nice heartwarming post and a different kind of card for a change …Lovely old and new clicks of you and mom and sure time does fly !
It’s refreshing to see different designs rather than same-y stuff just for a change this year. Thanks, Nisha! I hope you’re doing well and had a lovely weekend π
xx
What a great card, it shows the love you have for each other. Only true love can be so humourously brutal… π
Great post, Caz. Hope you’ve had a great weekend…
Hahah, I love that – “Only true love can be so humorously brutal”! Thanks, Carolyn. How are you doing? I hope all’s well with you and that you have a positive week ahead xx
Just love that card.
It’s certainly an eye-catching one, and pretty pretty! Thanks, Darnell. I hope you have a good week ahead π
Oh, my God. I have to be honest with you. When I opened tis emal notification, I roared with laughter. Thats title is…..BRILLIANT.
A definite magnet of a title.. I actually had to pause before reading to get my mind in the right frame.
I hope your mother had a gorgeous and wonderfful mother’s day. I wish hr good health, happiness, and a boastload of sarcasm
to share with her loved ones. LOL
Great post. Touched me.
And that’s the best response I’ve ever had to a title! I should whip out my sarcastic little shit nature more often. Thanks so much for your kind, awesome comment. I hope the week ahead is a good one for you! =]

Haha I like that and I hope your mum liked her card!
I think my mum would appreciate the “I like dogs more than people” one!
Oh no, sorry, I should have written out what the card said underneath! Sorry Kirsty. It says ‘To the best mum in the world. Love from your sarcastic little shit’. She thought it was hilarious, and very fitting to come from me. I told her I learned from the best! Hehe, that’s a good one, the one about liking dogs more than people π
xx
now we know where you get your lovely cheekbones from π
I forget I have cheekbones, they’re not very defined. My mother will be happy to hear this comment though! Heheh, thanks da-AL! Have a good rest of your week =]
you and your mom look great together. thanks for sharing her personality. i wish i could do half as well at crosswords
Aw thank you, Mary. I was awful when I first started doing crosswords; with practice, your brain starts to work around them a little differently so I’m much better now, still not as good as her though. Sudoku, however, has us both stumped! Have a lovely rest of your week π
xx
Funny card! Just need one for Fatherβs Day now!
Definitely, there are lots of great ones to choose from so it’ll be hard to pick the one that’ just the right level of rude & politically incorrect! π
Love this, there’s an emerging market in similar products. Have you seen the Love Layla stuff, it’s along the same lines.
Ooo no I’ve not heard of that. Will go Google that range now, thanks Karen! I do love things like this that are a bit different & raise a giggle =]
xx
Great line on the card. IMHO, satire conveys a message like nothing else can.
I agree, and I’m glad you liked the card too! Thanks, Ankur =]
