Hello March!

March has crept up & smacked me in the face today. I love the idea of spring around the corner but I’ll admit I’m horrified to think two months of the year have already disappeared in a blink.

Things haven’t gone quite as I’d anticipated and the spanner in the works that landed me in hospital has thrown me somewhat. But we do what we can, and we keep going. I don’t think I’d be as resilient or as keen to stay positive if it weren’t for you lovely lot – I just wanted to say a huge THANK YOU for all of your comments, messages, compassion and kindness. It means the world to me Β β™₯

The coming of spring brings about brightness, new life, fresh flowers. I look forward to a little more sunshine, a little more warmth (though I’m holding out for a super hot summer, fingers crossed!) and seeing the blossom on the trees and daffodils starting to ‘spring’ up.

The dawn of a new month & the approaching colours of a new season also provide a great opportunity to take a step back for reflection. To look at what’s happened so far this year, appreciate the goodness, note what you’d like to work on or what you’d like to do next, and think about how you’d like the next month or two to shape up.

What are you looking forward to this month?

Caz 🌹

I told myself that I’m going to savor every day more this year and like you say I’m horrified to see that 2 months have already disappeared in a blink. Happy Spring!!!

    • March 5, 2019 / 4:16 pm

The good news is there’s still 10 months of the year left to savour every day, Masha πŸ™‚

  2. March 2, 2019 / 5:00 pm

    Let’s not be horrified.

So sorry to hear that. You ARE the sunshine.

    • March 5, 2019 / 4:17 pm

Aw, bless you. I’m like the sunshine but with the coldness of a polar vortex!
I hope you’re having a good week, Bojana xx

  3. March 2, 2019 / 5:19 pm

Good morning from California. I’m sitting on the back of our boat this morning watching the rain. We are warm and dry and enjoying our morning coffee, while the birds are looking for food and the occasional boater is milling about. It’s a beautiful way to start the day.

I’m ready for spring, fairer weather and to get out on the water in our boat for many cruises.

Have a fabulous day, Caz. β™₯

    • March 5, 2019 / 4:20 pm

I hope you’re having a wonderful time, I know how much you look forward to getting back on the boat. Sounds lovely, despite the rain, as you can sit back and watch life and enjoy the warmth. Looking forward to more cruises on the boat is definitely something to look forward to. Have a lovely time, both of you xx

  4. March 2, 2019 / 6:11 pm

It’s a bit crazy to think that 1/6th of the year is gone already, but March is staring me in the face, so I’m going to tackle all of the projects and work-related items on the calendar ahead and soar past it into April, where the real fun begins!

    • March 5, 2019 / 4:23 pm

I love the resolve there, John! Get the projects and work well under way and it’s refreshing to have some of that behind you. What’s upcoming for you in April? x

  5. March 2, 2019 / 6:36 pm

Well, March is my birthday month and none of us are getting any younger, however, it sure beats the alternative! Try to stay positive and upbeat, The Pig in the Chinese calendar says it’s going to be a good year!

    • March 5, 2019 / 4:25 pm

Keep hold of your sense of humour and age doesn’t matter, Kim! What day is your birthday, and do you have any thoughts on what you’d like to do for it yet?
Yes, hopefully it will be a good year – there are still 10 months left! πŸ™‚

  6. March 2, 2019 / 7:12 pm

Caz, this was beautiful β™‘! I hated to km you had been in the hospital because I know that wasn’t a fun experience. The amazing thing about you is, YOU push forward with so much strength and determination. Even if you aren’t feeling 100%, you always shine bright with lots of positive thoughts and love. I feel honored to have been able to get to know you and really value YOU and our friendship β™‘!

    • March 5, 2019 / 4:41 pm

Aw, that’s incredibly kind of you, Alyssa, I don’t know what to say. I guess I don’t feel all that positive, but I do try. Perhaps that’s all we can do, try our best to keep on top of things and see the brightness in the dark times. I, too, am honoured and very glad to have ‘met’ you in the blogging world, you’re one awesome lady! How’re things going? Health and job hunt-wise..? Sending hugs xx

  7. March 2, 2019 / 7:45 pm

I don’t feel like we hardly had a winter (yet) here in the UK, so I’m sort of reluctant to go straight to summer – oh, I will do if thats what happens, but theres a part of me that wants winter to be winter, I need more time in the depths, I’m not quite ready to move on!

    • March 5, 2019 / 4:50 pm

Really, I feel like winter has been here most of the year in the UK (but I guess a lot of that is me struggling with the cold, feeling it even when others are warm). I can see why you want to fully experience winter though, and it makes the summer all the more lovely to look forward to then.x

  8. March 2, 2019 / 8:12 pm

    Hello Caz,

Top of the month to you and your enthusiasm! The positiveness is flowing right to us! I thank you for being upbeat. I cant help but be the same. For this Month I just want to improve my blog and close up some stories I’ve been working on. Nothing heavy like spring cleaning! lol.

    Be Well.

    • March 5, 2019 / 4:51 pm

Aw, cheers, Darnell. I don’t always feel very positive, but I do try! I think your aims for the month are great – what kind of blog improvements (not that I think any are necessary) are you considering? Yeah, leave the spring cleaning for another month πŸ˜‰

  9. March 2, 2019 / 9:06 pm

so glad you’re better – my husband’s from Iran, where 1st day of spring is also 1st day of the new year — which I take to mean that all of us have many times a year when we can start right back over πŸ™‚

    • March 5, 2019 / 4:54 pm

I hadn’t realised the first day of spring is the first of the New Year in Iran, that’s actually a really lovely idea because Spring is so refreshing. You’re right, many chances for us to start over and restart our year. Thanks, lovely. I hope you’re having a good week =]

  10. March 2, 2019 / 10:03 pm

Hi Caz… Good to hear you are ‘reflecting’; must mean you feel somewhat better than you did.
Yes, it’s March; hard to believe. For us, of course, it’s now Autumn; only mother nature is still thinking Summer!
I do appreciate your need for warmth; I wish I could send you some of ours; it’s been a very long Summer with far too many hot days with flowers and plants scorched, brown grass, shrinking violets, people, animals and houses. The mornings, though, are now giving a little relief with temps in the low 20s. Today will reach 32C with the following days 33, 35 & 36! Mind you, Caz, that’s better than the 40s of a few weeks back.
As you may guess from my comment, I’m looking forward to temps getting cooler. Such irony!

    • March 5, 2019 / 4:56 pm

Of course, autumn for you now and yet I hear of very high temperatures still there at the moment. I’m a little jealous as I’d love warmer weather. It’s so bizarre to think of summer there and winter here, such extremes. I hope you enjoy the fresher mornings and cooler days on the horizon too. Thanks for the lovely comment, Carolyn – I hope you’re having a good week xx

  11. March 3, 2019 / 5:18 pm

Come visit Sacramento if you want a super hot summer. πŸ™‚

    • March 5, 2019 / 4:57 pm

My suitcase is packed! I may get a one-way ticket there though πŸ˜€

  12. March 4, 2019 / 12:39 am

Yes indeed looking forward to a great spring… this week is however still cold here …Hoping for the best!

    • March 5, 2019 / 5:00 pm

Still cold in my neck of the woods, too. Fingers crossed warmer weather is just around the corner! Have a lovely week, Nisha xx

  13. March 4, 2019 / 11:45 am

Hi Caz, I am so glad you are on the mend. I am looking forward to time in my garden and warmer weather. Hoping for a terrific summer like last year.

    • March 5, 2019 / 5:02 pm

Oh yes, time in the garden would be lovely. Thank you, Brigid, I really appreciate your comment. I hope you’re keeping well and having a good week πŸ™‚

  14. March 4, 2019 / 12:37 pm

I thought I should read and comment on this before it was April! πŸ˜€ Jokes aside, where is the time going? Also, sorry to hear you’re not doing too well. I must’ve missed something in the previous posts. Have a great day!

    • March 5, 2019 / 5:08 pm

Hah, I still need to do my ‘New Year’ goals and now it’s already March!
Thanks lovely – I hope you’re well and having a good week so far πŸ™‚

  15. March 4, 2019 / 10:47 pm

Happy new month! Still praying for you. Spring does sound like a beautiful time of the year πŸ€—πŸŒΈ I’m kinda looking forward to my birthday this month πŸ’ƒπŸ½ Lovely post as always! ❀️

    • March 5, 2019 / 4:12 pm

What date is your birthday lovely? Do you have any plans for what you’d like to do yet?
Thank you for your kindness, it means a lot. And yes, spring is a beautiful time of the year (I just wish it were warmer!) 🌸

  16. March 5, 2019 / 8:40 am

Hope you’re on the mend again as it’s too lovely to be cooped up in a dreary old hospital – I’ll never know why they don’t make hospitals a happy place for people!

My March Schedule (although I’m already behind)?
Write 4 or 5 more posts for my blog site. Also upload photos for 2 more countries to my photography site. Doesn’t sound like much? But, as many of the photos I’m uploading are from 35mm negs, there’s a lot of dust and scratches I need to fix before a photo is presentable – then there’s the selecting through thousands!

Many thanks for stopping by my Travel and Photography blog.

    • March 5, 2019 / 4:14 pm

You’re right, they should do more to make hospitals feel a little more homely and happy, or at the very least a little less miserable!
I think your aims for the month are great, and it sounds like a lot of work to sort out the photos before you can post them so that should keep you busy πŸ˜‰
Thank you for the great comment xx

  17. March 5, 2019 / 5:01 pm

Hey Caz, like you, I can’t believe that 2 months have gone by already, we have both done so much this year already! I am also hoping for a lovely summer and am looking forward to spring – I was out in the garden today, where my mum was helping me to prune the roses and it was lovely being out. So I think that I would like to get on top of our back garden this year, as well as ‘nurturing’ myself, by keeping in the loop with speech and language therapy updates (so I can maybe do some private work at some time) and also finally bite the bullet and start my German home study course. That’s my plan, ask me in a year if I have achieved it, haha! xxx

    • March 6, 2019 / 5:04 pm

I’m sorry you feel like these months have disappeared in the blink of an eye too, but I’m also secretly glad I’m not the only one as I feel like I’m losing my marbles sometimes when I look at how quickly the months (and scarily the years) go by. I’m glad you got out in the garden a little and that you got to spend some time with your mum, does she like gardening? I don’t think I realised you were going to do a German course, that’s exciting! Is it a paid for one..? And what’s made you want to do that? I definitely think you can do it, just a small start and baby steps and in a year’s time you’ll have at least mastered part of the language! πŸ˜‰

  18. March 5, 2019 / 5:49 pm

I am so looking forward to spring and some warmer weather! Tbh, I’m so happy for these “wintry” months to have gone by! πŸ˜‰

    • March 6, 2019 / 5:02 pm

You’re not alone there! Fingers crossed those warmer, sunnier days are not too far away πŸ™‚

  19. March 6, 2019 / 11:26 am

So sorry you’ve had such a tough start to the year, Caz. It’s scary how quickly time goes sometimes, especially when having a rubbishy time. Wishing you some much better times ahead and hopefully a happy Spring xx

    • March 6, 2019 / 5:01 pm

Thank you Emma, that’s really kind of you Β β™₯ Huge congrats on your Blogiversary by the way, you should be really proud of everything you’re achieving! I hope you’re doing okay this week xx

  20. March 6, 2019 / 4:47 pm

Yep, hasn’t the time just flown by. But yes, Spring is around the corner and will hopefully give you a boost. You’re needing that.

    • March 6, 2019 / 5:00 pm

I am needing a boost, I think a lot of us are. I hope you’re doing okay and that the week is treating you kindly.. Β β™₯

  21. March 7, 2019 / 12:19 am

Love this line: “The coming of spring brings about brightness, new life, fresh flowers.” I can’t wait for the sun to finally shine more consistently. Cheers! πŸ™‚

    • March 7, 2019 / 6:22 pm

Fingers crossed the sun comes out to visit us all more soon! I hope you’re having a good week & enjoying a little kitchen craftiness with the veggies & paint! πŸ˜‰

    • March 7, 2019 / 6:20 pm

That’s so kind of you lovely, likewise to you too! Β β™₯

  22. March 7, 2019 / 11:35 am

I’d rather not have a really really hot summer again like last year, but I think there’s something special about the coming of spring, where it starts to get a bit warmer and all the plants and flowers come to life again.

    • March 7, 2019 / 6:19 pm

Get a fan and some ice packs in stock just in case we do have a warm summer. I think there’s such beauty in spring that I’m only appreciating more as I get older. I hope you’re doing okay lovely, thanks for the comment xx

I love the positivity in this post Caz; taking the time to appreciate the warmer weather and the changes in nature is a great way to look forward to summer 😊 xx

    • March 11, 2019 / 5:26 pm

I’m so looking forward to summer, I think I have been for several months now πŸ˜‰
Thanks for the comment lovely – I hope you have a good week ahead xx

  24. March 11, 2019 / 10:24 am

You made me smile when you talked of the brightness of March. I have a little ring of daffodils in a vase (glass lol) brightening my room. I’m looking forward to the next few months. I’ve had my first paid freelance job in over a year. Its writing rather than graphic design I cant do anymore but like ya said we do what we can and get on with it. So nice to find your blog!

    • March 11, 2019 / 5:21 pm

Aw, the daffodils in your room sound lovely, the perfect way to brighten things up & remind you of the spring just around the corner. That’s fantastic to get your first freelance job for writing, congratulations! I hope it goes really well for you with more work to come. Thanks for visiting – I’ll check out your blog now πŸ™‚
