This Girl Got Lucky : Competitions Winner!
I’m one of those people who never really seems to win anything. Just as well I’m not a regular lottery player as I’d hate to think how much money I’d have wasted by now. Competitions for a new car, a year’s supply of ice-cream, or a 3 week cruise have turned up nothing, either. I did once win a year’s supply of oyster sauce; shame I don’t like oyster sauce but the local takeaway place enjoyed my donation.
With my ‘back luck’ in mind, I was so shocked to have won twice recently. These were competitions run by other fellow bloggers. As I usually read and comment when I can, I didn’t think much of it. I certainly didn’t expect to win either, let alone both. I’d like to say a huge thank you to both these wonderful ladies. I’ve had a pretty rubbish time lately, as many of you have, so these have added some brightness and joy to the end of the year.
Firstly – Sarah fromĀ My Migraine Life.Ā
Sarah is an incredible writer with a blog that is as much about raising awareness as it is to provide support, encouragement and information when it comes to migraines.
In her generous giveaway, I won a diffuser from Organic Aromas, which was then personalised with an image of my choice. The company were fantastic in contacting me as I sent various images to try out for size via email, then letting me know they’d sent it. I’m waiting for just before Christmas to give this a go because it’ll feel like a lovely present that way. And it makes sure I keep my will power flexible and well-honed by practicing a little patience! It looks incredible and I’ve certainly never seen a diffuser this impressive before.
Organic Aromas do a range of aromatherapy and essential oil diffusers, including some special ones like the personalised, hand carved or laser engraved diffusers, as well as a range of quality essential oils. What’s also great is that they ship to almost everywhere in the world!Ā
Secondly –Ā Heather from Dinosaurs, Donkeys & MS
To celebrate their 2 year Blogiversary, Heather & Dizzy held a giveaway. I’ve followed the blog probably since I first started blogging myself, and it’s incredible to see how far it’s come and how amazingly she’s doing in raising awareness, being a source of support, and providing her readers with a little giggle through Dizzy and co’s antics. I was a lucky runner up in the giveaway and my parcel arrived this morning, I was so excited!Ā
If you haven’t checked out these fantastic blogs before, please do, you won’t be disappointed!Ā

Christmas has been and gone, and it can be quite deflating after so much build up to it. How was Christmas for you? Did you have a good time, or are you glad it’s all over? Since hearing the word ‘Twixmas’ numerous times and not having a clue, Google has enlightened me. Sadly, it has nothing to do with chocolate Twix bars. If you’re out of the loop like me, it’s the time between Christmas and NY. With that in mind, I hope you all have a restful Twixtmas and take some time to slow down, relax & recuperate.

Congratulations Caz. You deserve it. You are one of the most supportive bloggers that I have met. I see your thoughtful, encouraging comments everywhere and they are always a blessing to read. Even the ones that aren’t for me, make me happy hahaha. I pray your new year is full of blessings, and again congratulations on your winnings š
Margaret, I totally agree!

Congrats. I know exactly how you felt never winning anything.
This may be a sign that 2019 is going to be a whole new year for you.

It’s a nice way to feel a little brightness at the end of the year, that’s for sure. It goes to show we who feel we never win anything definitely can, even if it’s rare! Thank you for the kind comment, I hope you’re having a good weekend =]
You taught me something I did not know… Twixmas! It did sound better thinking on a delicious Twix bar… lol.
Congrats on winning the giveaways!
Twix is different in the UK but it’s still yummy! Definitely makes the Twixmas period more appealing to think of a little chocolate š
Have a lovely weekend, Gail xx

I appreciate it more than you know, thank you very much Sarah! I hope you had a decent Christmas – I hope 2019 is brighter for you š

Congrats on the winning! I think Iām out of the loop too on what Twixmas is. I wish it was something to do with the chocolate as well.
Thank you! I have to wonder whether Twixmas was randomly coined this year as I’d not heard of it before; maybe we can update the meaning to include chocolate! Wishing you a lovely 2019 š

My Christmas Eve was very happy. I invited strangers from various parts of the world to me. There were people passing through my city in Gdansk. Different beliefs, skin color and culture. There were Indians, Muslims, Protestants and Buddhists. Interesting Christmas Eve. You can sit together and share the wafer, sing Christmas carols in English and eat traditional Polish dishes together. I put Basia from Poland
That’s wonderful, I think that’s a brilliant way to spend Christmas and to connect with others. Thank you for sharing – I wish you a lovely 2019! š

Sarah is fab, I’m glad I could share her blog here with others. Thank you so much for the lovely comment, and no need at all to apologise – I appreciate any post you can read, and you have more than enough on your own plate with your own blog & work, too! All the best for a brighter 2019 Alys! Ā ā„
Congratulations!! And, Happy New Year????
Thanks lovely! Happy New Year to you too – I hope it’s a good one for you š

Congratulations on your wins Caz, what a great end to the year :O) xx
Thanks, they were quite a shock but it shows anyone can win and strange things do happen! Wishing you a bright, happy New Year – I hope 2019 is good for you š

A year’s supply of oyster sauce? I could hold that in the palm of one hand and still have room for a carton of carryout fried rice. Still, it gives you bragging rights for having won an unusual prize.
