Quick Quote by Emerson : An Experimental Life
I came across this quote by Emerson and had to share it. I think it’s a way of looking at life that could be very refreshing.
All life is an experiment. The more experiments you make the better.
Ralph Waldo Emerson.
There’s no rule book for life, no cheat sheet or players guide. When we’re faced with challenges, we tackle them as best we can. Sometimes we win, sometimes we lose. We’re given choices, big and small, to make all of the time. It’s a case of trying things out, seeing what works, and hopefully learning from each experience.
If we view life as a series of experiments, we see there there’s no linear path and no best way of dealing with life, especially in the case of chronic illness.
We just have to make the most of the situation we’re in and make the best decision for ourselves that we can at that point in time with the information we’ve got. It’s all a learning curve and a case of trial and error.
Don’t be too hard on yourself. The main thing is to keep moving. Keep making experiments, keep trying, keep learning.

Good to see you back ?
Life is a wonderful experience. There are good days, and not so good days. I enjoy each day.
Have a fabulous day. ♥
I think it’s a good way of thinking about things – I always think a little too linearly in terms of life and therefore am constantly getting surprised (sometimes unpleasantly) when things don’t turn out as I expect!
Lovely post. Very true, life is an experiment or a series of experiments. Need to remember that when we are worrying about doing things wrong if that makes sense.
Great reminder for us all!
Very inspiring quote , love it
What an amazing post Caz! This is so true, life is just an experiment that we have to work our way through. It would be so nice if there was some kind of rule book or cheat sheet to help us through the difficult times, but we all just do what we can in life! Worrying about the things done wrong will never help us move forward, we just learn from what went wrong and carry on!!
Lovely post and this is so true. xx I definitely need to remember to not be so hard on myself. xxx
So true! Never stop experimenting and learning in life. 🙂 Nice post!
Glad you liked it! 🙂
Love your attitude, Caz… 🙂
It’s hard to keep up, but I think that’s part of what I try to share on InvisiblyMe – the ups and the downs! Thanks for the lovely comment, Carolyn – have a great week 🙂
Thank for the encouraging words! <3 Thinking of you!
Absolutely Caz! Free will to do what we want/need/should to walk that path, detours and all. “…not linear.” Love that! ~k.
I’m glad you liked it and that it ‘spoke’ to you, too! 🙂
My life now is all about learning and if I don’t experiment I know that I won’t learn. Thanks for the reminder to keep experimenting. Isn’t that what keeps life interesting?
That’s spot on – learning is the grease for the wheels of life, or at least that’s how I like to see it. Thanks for the comment Alicia 🙂
Lovely post Caz. I am just easing myself in gently after a two week break. It is so easy to do too much…?
Yes, take it easy – Slow & steady wins the race, as the saying goes =]
