Frugal Friday Deals & Discounts [ 16/02/2018 ]

Yet again I find myself wondering where the week has gone. I’ll do a little mini-me update soon, but for nowI hope you are all keeping as well as can be. How’s the week been treating you?

Just a few Frugal Friday picks for today and my wishes for a positive, relaxing weekend to you all:)

1 Week Free Trial – Calm App

Calm is available on desktop, while the app is available for free download on the Apple App Store and Google Play for Android devices.

No card details are needed. BUT – The subscription for the app is charged via iTunes/GooglePlay so make sure that once you’ve signed up, you go into your account on the app (or via iTunes etc under the subscriptions tab) and stop the trial. This will give you access for the week without being charged when it ends (unless, of course, you love it and wish to pay to continue to use it).

Kindle Thriller

You can currently get Once Gone by Blake Pierce free on Amazon UK for Kindle. It’s a mystery/thriller novel with a 4.5 star rating, which sounds quite tempting! Don’t forget, you don’t need a Kindle device to read it as you can simply download the free Kindle app on phones & tablets. This is also free for Amazon US customers

Lovely Tootsies!

I tend to neglect things like my skin and my tootsies over the winter, then get in a flap when the nicer whether comes around (if it ever does) and I have to shed the 20 layers of clothing and heavy boots in favour of sandals and t-shirts. I love Scholl’s Velvet Smooth foot file, but they also do a quite tempting wet & dry version. These things are usually pretty expensive with an ‘original price’ of £59.99. You can currently order it online at Boots for £19.99 with free click & collect. Also a good Mother’s Day gifting idea to spread a little self-care.

Budgeting Planner & Advice

In the UK, the Money Advice Service website has an online budget planner that’s free to use. The site is also a great resource for information and advice on the likes of work, benefits, retirement, debt, mortgages, travel and more. I’m not affiliated with them in any way, I just think it’s a great place to start to get information and a pretty handy tool to check out. They even have an online web chat from 8am-8pm Monday-Friday and 9am-1pm Saturdays, so don’t struggle with worries, money anxiety or unanswered questions.

There’s also a free guide online – Transitioning from College to Career: A Guide for New Grads.

Have a restful, positive weekend.

I spent some time today paying bills and anything to save a buck/quid/pound or more is great.

I love that with Kindle books you can download them & keep them until you’re ready to read them (unlike library books you have to return!) Enjoy it if you do download it, and thank you – hope you have a positive weekend too 🙂
