I can’t believe it’s Friday again already. It’s gone in a blur, perhaps washed away by all of the miserable rain we’re having in this part of the dreary UK at the moment! I’m currently daydreaming of spring, but trying to make the most of hot chocolates & warm blankets. How has your week been?
Here’s a little round-up of frugal Friday goodness – enjoy!
Vitamin & Supplement Galore!
Boots have their ongoing 3 for 2 on vitamins and supplements, and they offer free next day delivery to store. I’ve taken advantage of this a few times now because you can’t always guarantee stock in store, so it’s a great way to be able to browse more easily at your leisure and get exactly what you want and need.
This is also where I’ve been buying my Vitamin C chewable tablets – you get 30 for 99p, or 3 for £1.98 (3 for 2) which is a bargain. They don’t taste too bad either!
Free Guardian Crosswords
Did you know you can put your grey matter to the test with The Guardian crossword puzzles online? Free to play and you can fill them in online, so you needn’t print them out if you don’t have a printer.
There are also puzzles from the Mirror, which look a little easier and more manageable to me. They have crosswords, plus others like arcade games, quizzes, strategy and card games.
I get through a lot of crosswords and find they’re a great way of keeping my brain ticking over when the rest of me needs a break.
1/2 Price Health & Wellness
Holland & Barrett currently have their half price sale on. There’s a lot included, from supplements and snacks, to body care and beauty.
My top pick here would actually be the Ecodenta Extra Black Whitening Toothpaste with charcoal and teavigo. I’ve tried numerous whitening toothpastes over the years and nothing has made the blindest bit of difference. This one, however, does actually seem to work! I’ve been using it so sparingly because it’s pricier at £4.99 (100ml) but it’s currently on offer at £2.49 so now’s the time to get in a couple of tubes.
Crime Thriller Freebie
You can currently get The Final Trick by Solomon Carter for free on Kindle at Amazon. It gets 4.5 stars so it’s worth a download if you like the genre or want to check out a new author.
Have a lovely, restful weekend everyone!

I’m thinking of getting back into the habit of getting something vitamins might have to do click and collect at boots!

I’ve been trying to get back into the habit too. I’ve found that finding reasonable prices & stocking up on a few have helped, makes me know I have enough of a supply and no reason not to! 🙂
Good idea, good to know about the 3 for 2 offers available. Up until now, I usually buy vitamins in Tesco or Asda when I am shopping. Not easy to get in to the habit of taking them but will persevere cause I just dont have the willpowe to eat healthily.

Hahah join the club! I’ve taken to doing a tick list so I make sure I take all my supplements as well as the meds. The 3 for 2 is pretty good as there are some own brand ones as well that are decent prices (like the Vit C) which surprised me 🙂
I love this Frugal Friday feature Caz! I’m looking forward to downloading The Final Trick. I love to read crime novels. What does that say about me ha ha????

Aw I’m so glad you like the idea! And I think our love of crime novels means we secretly want to be FBI agents or detectives, and having read so many books we’d probably be brilliant at it! 🙂

I’ve always wondered about toothpaste with charcoal in. At that price I’ll give it a go. 🙂 xxx

I’m always sceptical about these sorts of products and I’d never pay too much for them. This H&B one is the only whitening toothpaste, with or without charcoal, that I’ve tried that actually does something. It comes out of the tube black so it looks rather grim when you brush your teeth, but I’m sure I can notice a benefit after just one use. Worth a try 🙂
Ahh, Boots… such memories for me! Did I ever tell you that I lived in Great Britain for several years? Although the products you mention here are not available to me in the U.S., you have nevertheless brought me a huge smile today! Thank you. 🙂

Aw that’s wonderful! I’m glad to say that Boots is still going strong, and I hope it stays that way given the amount of big names leaving our highstreets at a scarily fast rate. I’m sorry I can’t link to anything that’s a Boots own brand, but I did find the same toothpaste on Amazon.com (http://amzn.to/2Fmf2cA) Do you have any plans to come back to visit the UK? I would love to move to the US, preferably a warmer area 🙂

Have your read the thriller? I actually quite like that genre, and if it’s for free, even better 😉 Nice post!

I’ve not read it but I’ve now got it on my TBR. I’ve also downloaded it for my mother, who loves the genre too (and anything that’s free!) Hope you enjoy it if you decide to read it 🙂
Thanks for the tip on the book. I’m off to download now.
