It can be easy sometimesΒ to get caught up in the thoughts of what might-have-been, regrets, rehashing the past, wanting to claw back the days we look back on fondly, ruminate in anger of past hurts. But we cannot change the past. What’s done is done. We are where we are, and we can either let the past rule us, or move through it.
That’s not to say that the past isn’t important, or that moving forward is easy. Far from it. The past doesn’t define us, but we can take the lessoned learned from it and appreciate the ways in which it has helped us to grow. We can look at how it still affects us and work on those issues, including grieving what you feel you may have lost, which can often be the case with invisible illness.
But we can onlyΒ control how we respond and deal with the past, whether that’s 10 years ago or yesterday. Then we need to focus on what we can do to help ourselves and others, on living in the moment so as not to have our lives slip through our fingers. We can look at the ways we can take control and move forward toΒ shape our future. Things can and will get better; the future can be brighter, healthier & happier.
Have a lovely weekend guysΒ β₯

How you deal with the past is all part of moving forward and learning fro life experiences, fab post x
Learning from past experiences… definitely! Glad you liked the post xx
You are so right, the past is done. What’s done is done, it can’t be undone. It just makes us hold on to the negative if we dwell on it. Yes its not easy but it is better for us in the long run π God Bless you π
Holding on to the negative can take so much energy, more than we realise, even though moving forward can also be hard. Thank you for reading and commenting Margaret, I hope you’re well π x
Exactly, very true indeed :):) I am doing well thank you for asking. I pray things are doing good with you also. π It’s always good to see you π
I really liked the truth of this π
Thank you, I’m glad you liked it! π
So true. Its also very easy to remember the past as being bettter or happier than it actually was.
Yes, ‘rose tinted glasses’ comes to mind for when you remember the good times and make them perhaps a little brighter than they were.x
So true… I think I needed to read this. xx
I am sooo guilty of getting stuck in the past and I find it very difficult to move forward from.
Sounds like there are a few of us in that boat, it’s a tricky one to move on from and to ‘live in the moment’. Just know that you’re not alone, and that healing is possible, as is moving forward. Thanks for reading and commenting π
