Hello lovely guys & gals, how’s everyone doing today? I’m amazed, and not in a good way, that’s it’s already June 1st! It’s been a rough week health-wise but I’ve been keeping busy, sadly with nothing too exciting, though I’m hoping to get some rest on the weekend. I hope the week has treated you all well, and that it’s a positive weekend ahead. With no further ado, here are a couple of picks for Frugal Friday!

Blending Up A Storm

The Breville Blend Active Blender is one of the most popular and highly rated budget-friendly blenders around and it comes in a few different forms depending on colour preference and how many bottles you want included. The personal blender comes with two bottles, gets great reviews and sounds easy to use and quick to clean, so it’s a fab way to get more fruits and veggies and goodness in your diet. This is the one I would like to get soon as I hope it will make eating certain things a little easier due to my stoma.

At the moment, you can find these reduced at Amazon :

Pink  –  £21.74

Green at only £19.99

The Breville blender.

(Prices correct at time of posting)

(Similar personal blenders by other brands can be found reduced on Amazon US too )

A Rare Discount & Free Delivery at Everything5pounds

At Everything5Pounds you can currently get any of the £5 products for £4.75 thanks to a rare Moneysavingexpert 5% discount code and free delivery (worth from £3.95+). Just go to the website here and enter the code MSESUMMER in the promo code box.

Free Lactose-Free Milk!

If you’re in the UK and have a Sainsbury’s nearby, you might want to check this out. You can enter your details to print off a voucher for a free bottle of Lactose-free milk. Simples!  *Voucher expired*

Turmeric

There are a few great buys to be had at Holland & Barrett for the final few days of their half price sale, from CBD Oil and Omega 3 to Glucosamine/Chondroitin tablets and Manuka honey.

You can also get a higher strength turmeric at Amazon (600mg) – an amazing 365 capsules for £19.99 at the time of posting and you only need 1 per day so looks like these could last the whole year! Buyers have rated them an average 4.5 star rating which looks quite promising.

You can search for all turmeric supplements on Amazon UK/US here.

Whatever you’re up to this weekend, I hope it’s a good one!

I LOVE Turmeric! May was a rough month allergy-wise (grass pollen) and I’m hoping June will be an improvement, even if this is the official beginning of hurricane season.

That’s so fab to hear that turmeric has been such a positive experience for you – I’ll have to research a little more and write a post on it as I’m hearing increasingly positive things about it. I do hope June is better for you allergy-wise 🙂 Thanks Jeanne – have a lovely weekend! xx

So do I, Melissa. I’ll have to research a bit more thoroughly and do a separate post on turmeric soon as it’s certainly an interesting one! Thank you for the comment – I hope you have a lovely weekend 🙂

Thanks for the tip off about the blenders. Looking to get a blender cause it might get younger boy to eat more fruit and veg, apparently he enjoyed a smoothie at football training the other day. Just had a stand off over Chocolate ice cream as I type cause he didn’t eat his tea so I have said no.

If he enjoyed the one at footie, he should like being able to have them freshly made at home (or so one would hope)! I applaud you for standing your ground over the choc ice cream – does it help ensure he eats his tea? x

Oooo that’s fab! Is it the same one that I’ve linked to, Emma? I’m curious as to whether it really is as super quick & easy to clean as people reviewing it suggest it is? x

I think I’ve become more of a pro at bargain hunting over the years because I’m so tight with money! Glad you like the Frugal Fridays post – I’m hoping to get one of those blenders soon so I’ll let you know what I think, or I’ll read about it on your blog if you beat me to it. Turmeric isn’t something I’ve tried myself yet but I will probably go for the year-in-a-bottle bargain; it’s great it’s been a good supplement for you, how do you find it helps?
Thanks for the comment Ema! 🙂

Great to hear you get lots of use out of your blender/smoothie maker – Do you have any favourite recipes? Do you tend to add milk to fruit/veg?
You’re right, it’s important for kids to know what they’re eating and appreciate it’s value for our health. Thanks for the comment – have a lovely week, Ben! 🙂
