Naughty November Is Here Already! [Mini Me Update]

by InvisiblyMe
A photo of a park with tall trees that look golden with the sunshine coming through and the ground is carpeted by golden autumn leaves. The post title is underneath: Mini Me Update, Naughty November is here already.

I thought I’d do a quick mini me update as the time is just flying by this year. I probably think this all the time, but surely I’m not alone in wondering where the heck the year’s gone? Seriously November, how did you sneak up on us so quickly?! You’ve been warned – it’s going to be a pretty dull month by the looks of what I’ve written (great news if you’re reading this and needing something to help you nod off).

[  Remember The Good Times  ]

I ordered a whole bunch of photos to be printed from Snapfish plus one larger collage print – I highly rate them if you want to get anything printed as they do photo prints plus lots of other personalised goodies, they’re reasonably priced, and I’ve always found the service and quality to be fantastic.

I’ve filled up a photo album with pictures from Salou this year. I’ve then started a second one for other photos I’ve had for a while but have never sorted out or stored properly.

A couple of black photo albums and lots of photos are spread out on my black damask print duvet.

[  Tests & Appointments  ]

I should hear back about the results of the smear test I had last week in the next week or two. This is just to check the treatment I had for severe pre-cancerous changes was successful and that no other changes have been found. Very important to get tested if you haven’t already ladies, or if you’re nervously putting it off. Of course, it’s your own individual choice and your own body so don’t let anyone push you in to it, but when the tests can be so useful and the treatment readily available to help in preventing cervical cancer, it makes sense. I did a post of my experience on smears after my last test/treatment here.

I’ll be having my first appointment with the Pain Management Clinic after the assessment I attended nearly 2 months ago. This is to see someone regarding mindfulness, which I said I wouldn’t mind getting back in to with a little help from a professional. It’s something I’d started, and do every so often, but don’t stick to. Also, I said yes because I need to see her for a CFS/ME assessment as she is the specialist in this area and the assessment team thought it prudent. Not too sure how I feel about that, but I’ll keep an open mind.

I had a dental appointment for a check-up at the start of this week after insisting on seeing someone other than the evil dentist I saw last time. I’d sooner fork my eyes out than see her again. Had x-rays taken after the osteopenia diagnosis and just need to keep a watch over a few things that may be issues in the future, but for now I can breathe a sigh of relief at not needing anything done!

[  Sorting Out Meds  ]

I’ve done a little medication organisationand binned boxes/leaflets I didn’t need, put things in order, checked all dates and made a note of what I need to order on repeat prescription. I’ve also vowed to myself to be more stable with what I’m taking in terms of anti-anxiety meds and vitamins (including Vit D which I was chronically low on in the past and really need to keep on top of). I feel better already for taking a little control here.

[  To Watch  ]

I’m looking forward to Stranger Things season 2, as are most of the Netflix-watching population I would imagine! I’ve not had Netflix for a little while as I tend to do it by month, cancelling then restarting when I think I’ll make the most of it. I also need to catch up on Bates Motel as it’s now in to season 5 and calling to me to watch it..!

 [  Personal  ]

I’ve got a fair bit of personal mind junk to sort through. Things have been going in a bit of a downward spiral that I’m only just managing to struggle up from, but it’s a slow and painful process, especially when it involves moving away from comfort zones. I’ve also got to get my MOT sorted, deal with family/household related issues that are causing some strain, re-evaluate my dire financial situation, chase up appointments with a local surgeon and a specialist in London to see where things may go from here. When my current stoma problem resolves, I need to try to spend more time doing things that are meaningful and valuable, rather than constant day to day nonsense that doesn’t count for much when all is said and done.

[  Current Health  ]

My body at present isn’t so spiffy. I’ve had problems with my stoma since Sunday, which is likely due to the small bowel bending awkwardly and leading to it twisting and causing an obstruction. I’ve been trying to self-manage the problem as it’s not been as awful as it has in the past, but it’s been a few days now and I feel awful so I’m really hoping things quickly resolve as I’m desperately trying to avoid another A&E trip.

[  The World  ]

The world can be a wonderful, beautiful, vibrant place, but it can also be scary and pretty morbid. Right now, I just want to send my thoughts and best wishes to Catalonia following the crisis that ensued since the referendum in Spain, where there looks set to be ongoing uncertainty and violence, and also to New York after another heartless, senseless attack has destroyed lives in the most appalling of ways.

[  You  ]

An Uncle Sam style image silhouette in dark green with a finger pointing towards us.

As always, thank you for stopping by and reading, for comments and thoughts and for sharing your experiences. Please do reach out if you want to chat or if you have anything to share. What does your November look like at the moment? Hopefully it will happy one.

Stranger Things seems to be the thing this Fall! One of my friends just started watching it and recommended I do too. Maybe that’s what I’ll do this November! 🙂
I don’t know if you do blogging awards, but I linked your blog as one of my “nominees” for the Real Neat Blog award. Feel free to ignore it, if that’s not your thing. My intention in linking your blog was so more people could discover it! You do have a neat way of talking about things that’s fun as well as informative; I always enjoy reading your posts. Thank you for yet another good one! <3

Yes, Stranger Things seem to have developed a cult following – definitely something to add to your ‘to watch’ list – enjoy if you do watch it! Thanks for the comment x

I am currently listening to Stranger Things as I am working away on my laptop. Looks like my November is going to consist of work, sorting my blog out, xmas prep and visiting my mother in law to be, who is very unwell. x

I hope you enjoy Stranger Things! Sounds like a productive November, and quite organised too if you’re thinking about Christmas (I’m putting off accepting this is happening until December…) I’m sorry to hear about your mother-in-law to be; I don’t know what’s wrong, but I wanted to send my best wishes her way. xx

I know what you mean, as if it is November already! I’m trying to sort out my photos this month, I get sick of them hiding away on the computer! I hope your health issues are resolved quickly, wherever possible and that you can enjoy the month and Stranger Things, which I need to watch too. Take care and all the best xx

I always have this niggling worry about photos just being on my laptop, which I guess is why I quite liked having a few special ones printed. Organising them all is quite cathartic, and it brings back some nice memories too so I hope you manage to sort out a little time here and there to go through yours as well. Enjoy Stranger Things when you manage to sit down to it! Thanks for the lovely comment Nat, you take care too.xx

We have nothing much planned for November either! Ive never seen Stranger Things but it’s on my watchlist so maybe that can be my plan for November, binge watching season 1!

I would highly recommend a ‘Netflix and chill’ session for Season 1; if you love it, you’ll have a whole second season to look forward to as well! 🙂
