8 Healthy Habits Every Woman Should Embrace

by InvisiblyMe

Today I wanted to share a guest post from the wonderful Amy Mia Goldsmith on 8 healthy habits every woman should embrace. Enjoy, and thank you Amy!

Millions of women live so hectic lives these days, and they simply don’t have time to take care of their health and fulfilling some of the basic needs like eating healthy, getting enough sleep, or feeling at peace. If you want to change that, but you don’t know how, just keep on reading. Here are 8 healthy habits every woman should embrace as soon as possible!

1.  Self care is essential…

Taking care of yourself is crucial, starting with your health, skincare, physical appearance, and what’s most important – emotional well-being. We all live really fast these days, which is why we’re so stressed out, but there are ways to deal with that and manage stress. Just stop for a second, breathe deeply, and try to relax for a moment. Once you do that, you’ll realize that nothing in the world is worth stressing out that much, and that your health should always come first.

2.  … As well as self-love

Self-love is another important aspect of life you should embrace as soon as possible, which many women find quite difficult to accomplish. So many ladies are unhappy with their physical appearance, and such thoughts are the main source of negative energy that stands in their way towards self-love. One way to overcome that is to see your minor flaws as your best assets and to love the skin you’re in. Stop being embarrassed with your tummy or slightly bigger bottom and start perceiving them as your main attributes, and you’ll see an instant improvement!

3.  Always have a good night’s sleep

Australian women swear by the good night’s sleep, claiming that it’s called ‘beauty sleep’ for a reason. The fact is that you need at least 8 hours of sleep every night if you want to wake up well-rested and refreshed, without those hideous dark circles and under-eye puffiness. Besides that, it’ll also help you stay focused and productive throughout the day, which is why you need to sleep tight every night.

4.  Embrace healthy lifestyle habits

Healthy lifestyle habits include clean eating, drinking enough water, and being physically active in the first place, which is exactly what you need to incorporate into your daily routine if you already haven’t. Avoid processed foods as much as you can, and introduce fresh fruits and veggies packed with vitamins, antioxidants, and essential nutrients. A minimum of 8 glasses of water per day should be met, as well as a brisk 15-minute walk if you don’t have time to hit the gym.

5.  Go for regular check-ups

Another important aspect of healthy and fulfilled life is going for regular checkups, and Australian ladies really mean business when it comes to these. Apart from seeing their gynaecologist and GP, they also choose to have an eye test in Sydney as well. Blood tests are also highly required so that you can check your blood sugar and cholesterol levels, as well as hormone levels, which need to be checked after you turn 40.

6.  Exercise on a daily basis

Exercising is an essential step towards healthier life, so be sure to hit the gym whenever you have enough time for a quality workout. However, if you don’t have time to sweat in your local gym, you can always rely on exercise videos and start working out in the comfort of your own home. Besides that, you should try to drive less and walk more – a 15-minute walk per day will be just fine to help you stay in shape!

7.  Stop hating Mondays

First of all, poor Monday isn’t guilty for being the first day after the weekend, so take it easy and stop blaming it for everything. Try seeing it as a new day which brings a lot of new opportunities and chances to get something done. Once you start seeing it like that, you’ll manage to stay enthusiastic and focused at work, which is extremely important primarily because of your well-being. When you stop hating Monday, you’ll start seeing it as an ordinary day at work and you won’t struggle with your daily tasks and obligations any longer.

8.  Stop hating in general

If someone annoys you, makes you angry, nervous, or insecure, you’re likely to develop some negative emotions towards that person. However, the truth is that hatred won’t make you feel better – instead, it’ll result in accumulation of those negative emotions, so you may end up feeling stressed out and emotionally drained. To prevent that, try to understand why someone said what he said and what’s actually his story behind the verbal attack. Remember: if someone doesn’t know you in person, don’t take it personally!

Each of these 8 habits will undoubtedly improve your life, health, and overall well-being, so if you’re up for that, give your best to embrace them as soon as possible. Just take one step at a time and you’ll see a significant improvement very quickly!

I’m glad you enjoyed the post. There’s plenty here I need to try harder to do as well, but with sleep all you can do is try and hope for the best sometimes! Thanks for the comment 🙂

A lot of these make sense. I could definately learn from the hating people thing and being irritated all the time. I would add another one which I would actively do myself if I didn’t use it for my job, come off facebook. Personally I believe it just leads to dissatisfaction and jealousy, it really feels as if everyone has a nicer life than you when you go on there. As for sleep, if my boys would allow me to sleep and stop waking me up in the night (they are 10 and 7 by the way and have no special needs) the world would be a nicer place.

Yes, social media is a tricky one because it really can bring up a lot of negativity, comparisons, the whole ‘fear of missing out’ thing. I hope your boys give you a night off soon and allow you to sleep peacefully the whole night through – sounds like it would be a miracle and much-needed! 🙂
